HC my girls pissed me off last night?
HC I decided to take them on a field trip yesterday?
HC Mondays are normally my day off?
HC I still worked so that they could go on the field trip?
HC it was to the Mayor's Annual Arts Awards?
HC there were performances by dancers from Bring in the Funk, Bring in the noise?
HC there were slam poets?
HC there was an opera singer?
HC there were more dancers?

HC there was a gospel choir?
HC they were actually giving away awards?
HC I need to start at the beginning?
HC I told my students last week we were going on this field trip?
HC I told them to bring something nice to wear for it?
HC I also sent home a letter to parents to let them know about the field trip and the dress up clothes?
HC I told them that they could wear pants since it was cold, but no jeans?
HC heffas showed up with nothing to wear?
HC I could understand the girls who actually didn't have anything to wear?
HC that was the start of the bad evening, the bad dressed kids?
HC I called last week to reserve "tickets?"
HC I said, "tickets," because I never actually had tangible tickets in hand?
HC we get there, and it's first come, first served seating?
HC that's cool, no problem?
HC what is NOT cool is how they handled the crowd?
HC we were loaded in the lobby area like cattle?
HC I mean the immediate lobby area, like between the outside door and the inside door?
HC my kids were complaining?
HC I was already mad at the way we were being handled and talked to?
HC there was a usher there (or doorman, or whoever, he was) that kept barking, "KEEP THAT DOOR SHUT! SHUT THE DOOR! YOU CAN'T COME IN! CLOSE THAT DOOR! HEY! KEEP THAT DOOR SHUT!"
HC he was all up in MY ear with that mess?
HC he was yelling at EVERYBODY, old and young?
HC he was just plain old rude?
HC we finally got in and got our seats?
HC the kids just HAD to go get snacks?
HC at first I ain't let them go?
HC after we were settled, I let them go get snacks?
HC all my kids didn't have money, so Ms. Ideal08 ended up buying a couple of them snacks?
HC one heffa ain't even say thank you cuz she had an attitude with me cuz I snapped at her earlier?
HC that kinda pissed me off?
HC she is an ungrateful heffa?
HC the show started late?
HC my girls complained about that?
HC they have less patience than I do?
HC when the show finally started, these RUDE kids KEPT talkin?
HC (in addition to myself) OTHER people were telling them to SHHH?
HC two of my girls decided to slum down in their seats and go to sleep?
HC I made them sit up and watch the show?
HC the whole time I was pissed?
HC I could tell that they didn't appreciate even being off campus?
HC they are ALWAYS begging to go somewhere?
HC they are ALWAYS complaining that they never get rewarded for anything?
HC I tried to reward these heffas, and they just oculd not behave?
HC at one point, two ladies in front of us switched seats?
HC I was making mental notes the whole time of who would not be able to go the next time we went somewhere?
HC all of a sudden, one of my girls starts talking AGAIN?
HC the lady in front of her turned around and told her to SHHH?
HC (and this was the straw that broke my back) my student looked at her, and said, SHHHHHHH!?
HC I was PISSED?
HC I hit her on her shoulder (we are not supposed to touch the kids, whatever
) and reprimanded her?
HC at the same time, the lady got up and left the theater?
HC the girl sitting next to me said, "Uh-oh, she goin' to snitch?"
HC this is all happening while the operal lady is singing?
HC the lady comes back with the usher and says (and this pissed me off, too, cuz it was a lie), "It's these whole two rows!?"
HC I was so mad and embarrassed, I told my girls to get their coats and we were leaving?
HC I couldn't even make it to the lobby before I went off?
HC I told them that I thought they were unappreciative?
HC their parents would have never taken them to something like this?
HC the teachers are NOT that invested in their culture like that, so they definitely aren't taking them anywhere?
HC they don't even have school field trips, so that tells you right there?
HC I told them that I was trying to broaden their horizons and show them something other than the ghetto crap they see on TV?
HC I told them that I bet if Lil Fizz (of B2K fame) was on stage, they would NOT have been acting out like that?
HC I told them that they acted IGNORANT and GHETTO and I was embarrassed to have even been out with them?
HC that was the most angry I've been with them since I started this job?
HC half of the girls were pissed, cuz we had to miss the rest of the show?
HC I was pissed cuz we didn't get to see the slam poets?
HC all we got to see were the gospel choir, the BITFBITN dancers, and PART of the opera singer?
HC I had NO IDEA that they ain't know how to act in that type of setting?
HC there was another group with us from the school, 11th grade girls, and they were worse?
HC their house parent took them out before I took my girls out?
HC it was SO embarrassing, I can't even explain it to yall?
HC they got all of their privileges snatched?
HC there is no computer time this week?
HC they were gonna have pizza this week?
HC they are not having it anymore?
HC when we got back, the girl of SHHH! fame called me into her room and apologized for embarrassing herself, us, her family, and her culture?
HC I accepted her apology, and explained to her why I went off and gave her detentions every day for the rest of the week?
HC since she apologized on her own accord, and was sincere, I only gave her one detention?
HC I'm still calling her mother?
HC I don't think it will do any good?
HC her mother told me she couldn't afford to buy her more shirts right now?
HC she went out to the club the same day she told me that?
HC parents expect their kids to have their priorities in order if theirs are jacked up?
HC I just can't believe how these kids acted last night?
HC we acted up, but NEVER at anything like this?
HC I now have to work this into my professional development time with them?
HC we are going to have classes or something on how to behave in public?
HC I need to teach them what behavior is appropriate for what events?

HC I was going to take some of my girls to see him perform?

HC two of the 11th grade girls were loud and obnoxious on the train on the way to the awards?

HC all of a sudden, one of the girls says, "Ooh, chill, chill?"
HC the next thing you know, this White man in a business suit gets on the train?
HC their behavior changed DRASTICALLY?
HC we looked at each other like WTF?
HC they felt he deserved more respect than the Black people that were already on the train?????
HC they wonder why I complain about the lack of African-American representation (teachers and staff) at an ALL BLACK boarding school?
HC I was completely outdone by the whole situation?
HC I can't wait for winter break?
HC I hope they send the kids home for inclement weather again this week?
