my mistake, sorry.
as for system wide, i'd say that ifc and panhel need to get their scholarship area more active. as far as i know, it all goes back to scholarship. they are the ones who have to take care of this stuff i think. congrats that your chapter was and is above the all women's.

DeltAlum -- watch your mouth! We have a social life!

Our GPA is determined by the school, and yes, it is usually above the all men's and women's GPA at Miami.

Have a good one.

I take it all back. There is a social life in Oxford:

One Miami University student was free on bond Tuesday one day after he and another student were arrested on multiple charges involving drug activity at their Acacia fraternity house.

Fraternity brother Jay Kanterman, 19, of Missouri was released after posting 10 percent of his $1,280 bond, Butler County Jail officials said. Nathan Anderson, 20, of North Canton was issued a summons. Both will go to Area 1 Court in Oxford on dates to be determined, a court spokeswoman said.

Kanterman is charged with three felony counts of drug trafficking, one felony count of drug possession and misdemeanor counts of permitting drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to authorities. Anderson is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and drug possession, both misdemeanors.

Both were arrested Monday following a month-long investigation into marijuana trafficking at the house, 110 S. Campus Ave., according to the Butler County sheriff’s office. Investigators confiscated 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $460.

OK, OK. I appologize in advance. What a cheap shot! It's just that I had just posted the above in response to Brian when I read this.

Actually, I have some friends who went to Miami, but I don't tell too many people about them.

nobody responded??? what am i? chopped liver? i'm a miami alum and darn proud of it.
isn't the first time there have been drug trafficking problems at miami. sae also had a few problems.
oh yeah, also notice that miami is considered a public ivy league school, so the degree of difficulty compared to some other schools is greater. which in turn means that we do work harder for our higher gpa's.

Shelley,

Sorry. I know you responded about the GPA -- I was talking about the cheap shot (OK, I admit it) about lack of social life and having study tables at JCrew.

One of my really good friends here in Colorado is on the local Miami Alumni Association Board, and I was the President of the local OUAA Board. We have a great time taking pot shots (no pun intended given the topic of the last article), at each other. Interestingly, he's married to my wife's former O.U. apartment mate.

Yes, bad news for Acacia. That all just got released to the news yesterday. It's unfortunate, but it shouldn't have been happening in the first place.

Yes, Miami is a "public ivy", so there!
