Now on the actual topic-
At Pitt this is done quite often.
Sometimes two sororities and two fraternities will have a mixer- we call it a combine.
But at least once a semester we're supposed to do something with just another sorority- we'll usually do a member ed type thing. Last semester we cooked breakfast and had an ME on eating disorders (i think) with Sigma Delta Tau.

I'm a Kappa Delta and we had a date dash with the Chi O's this year. The ZTA's were supposed to be there too but something came up. It really does help the sororities on campus associate with each other and builds good relationships.

Thumbs up

Funny you mention kd's, chi o's and zta's, b/c those are the only three sororities we have on campus here We had a dinner exchange and all-sorority social. What we did was all the groups passed around a sheet and you would volunteer to either go to another house or stay at your own house (the latter in order to make sure there would be girls around the house too). That was for dinner. We specified nice dressing (not quite pin attire but not really jeans tshirt either) and had nice food out, then talked during dinner and played games and watched movies. So there were girls from all three sororities at each of the houses and I think it turned out to be pretty fun!

The sororities on my campus tend to keep to themselves so much. I can't deny that we're guilty of it too. However, every year we talk about doing something like this, but we never do. How did y'all go about starting to do this, because I think this would be great for us! I mean, we have 6 NPC sororities on my campus and we never do anything together except for Recruitment, lol. We really need to get past the ugly competition

Our sorority loves the Sigma Kappas because their girls are so much like us. We're always doing stuff together and hanging out in each other's offices on campus. We're planning our first dual initiation party together.

I don't remember any mixers or formals with other sororities, but we did have parties. One of these was while I was in college, the others I've just heard about:

Pi Phi--Monmouth Duo
Chi O--Owl-o-ween Party
Theta--Kite & Key

As you can see, finding commonalities makes for a neat theme!

We have done mixers with other sororities before. I remember doing a tie dye mixer with Delta Phi Epsilon and we have done a couple dinner mixers with Phi Sigma Sigma. They were a lot of fun!

We just recently had a social with ADPi (it was a crush party) and Panhellenic always tries to have at least one All-Sorority Social a semester. We just had it last week and we iced cookies and decorated Christmas cards for kids at Children's Hospital. We all then went serenading to all the Fraternities (11 of them) and took them the cookies.

We have mixers, crush parties, socials and community service events with the other sororites on campus. I think we had one last month with ADPi. I think we did a few with some other sororites last year too. I think that a few of the sororities (not us) on campus were paired with other sororities for greek week and homecoming too because of the shortage of fraternities on our campus (they all keep getting kicked off by IFC). Sometimes the socials with the gals are more fun than the socials/mixers with the guys cause we can kick back and not have to worry about being "cute".

Rake and Run

We did a Rake and Run one night with Delta Zeta...
It was fun, but we didn't really get to spend a whole lot of time getting to know anyone but those in our Rake groups.

We actually had an All Greek Mixer at our school. It was pretty cool. Everyone was invited and there was a good turn out. I think "free food" had something to do with it. But I loved the idea.

At our school, we do a mixer with the other sorority at least once a year. It helps us to build up our relationship because things are pretty intense with there being only two NPC sororities on this campus.
