ADPi posted that they took 194!
Arkansas has done a phenomenal job the last several years of having so many women successfully matched - bravo to them! And the bid day decorations…so, so amazing! Congrats to all!!!

I would love to know the retention rates of PNM classes at Arkansas.

Carnation, I would too. I have several good friends who have daughters that are currently actives there. Lots of grumbling this week about some chapters having to release more than usual (and releasing many PNMs that they really wanted); so that Alpja Phi would get a lot. Not sure that is the best idea because my niece said lots of girls who got Alpha Phi ran crying back to their dorms and are not going to even give them a try. I know they aill all probably regret it but I can kind of understand them wanting a chapter with a beautiful mansion. My niece went AXO.

I know Arkansas loves to brag about the high percentage of PNMs that receive bids, but I suspect that their retention rate is pretty abysmal,

Congratulations to your niece!

I have known several PNMs who went to schools who had new chapters coming up, and quota was cut to help the new chapters. Panhellenic pushed and pushed the new chapter but the girls weren't having it, with PNMs dropping before they would take the new group. Others felt that they were almost forced into listed the new group second and told that almost everyone gets their first choice. This is one reason that Greeks get a bad reputation.

Yes Carnation, I don’t think this pushing girls into the new chapter works out so well. Same thing happened to my daughter about 10 years ago. She accepted a bid to AXO (and was ultimately happy). Her pledge class had like 200 women, but only about 110 actually initiated. They are doing great now. Alpha Phi will catch up once their house is built. Even DG (have only been around maybe 5 years) is sought after already by many PNMs

Not yet. I'm lurking social media and haven't seen any but the pledge classes look huge!

Huge congrats to your niece!

Anyhow, that stinks the PNMs had that attitude about Aphi, it would be an amazing opportunity to be the “first” PC the house has. I do know their new house is in the works for the future.

Pi Phi just posted 150.
One of the cheerleaders who is a Kappa posted a TikTok with something like “I won’t get to get a little because our pledge class is so small”….guessing they were held to something similar?

I remember the bed rush days at Arkansas when sororities could set their own quota. KKG, which was a desirable sorority then as well, had a tiny pledge class composed of top PNMs. It was said that they could have had a bigger one but that they told everyone they took everybody they wanted. This caused a huge uproar. It devastated my roommate, who had gone to Chi O and Kappa for prefs and received neither. A Kappa was her best friend.
