I thought it was a very exciting episode. I didn't mind the gore...I always watch the surgery channel and stuff, so it wasn't too bad.

YES!
Thank you, I was looking for that exact phrase. The shark has indeed been jumped.

Yeah it was on last night. It starts at 9pm. But where I live it starts at 8pm because the local news on that channel starts at 10pm. I couldn't watch it either. Sure I'm a bio major but I dealing with plants and animals not bodies. OHHHH my cadiver story. My lab teacher for general bio was also the antamomy professor. Well I went into her classroom to ask her a question and when I walked in, there was 2 cadivers on tables in all their glory. I was shocked cuz I never saw a dead body beside at a funeral. I was like ummmmmm, yeah not good. Then this guy in the class started giving me crap cuz of my reaction. I was like dude back off I wasn;t expecting it......Anyways that's all

That was the most disgusting thing that I have ever seen on tv. I thought that I was going to be sick. I was watching it with my sister who was on her laptop. She missed it, and I'm freaking out, "Oh my God! I can't believed they showed that on tv!" She said, "What? What!" I freaked out for about ten minutes. I somehow managed to calm down. I knew that something was going to happen after that patient kept saying he didn't want to get into the helicopter. I knew it would be bad. I had no idea that it would be that bad.

Ok, can someone please explain what happened to Ramano's arm? I came in and they were trying to reattach it. How did it come off, exactly, and did it get reattached? Can you be a one-armed doctor? Thanks!

The doctors were evacuating the hospital and taking patients to the roof so they could leave by helicoptor. Ramano was loading a patient into the helicopter and accidently got caught in the rotating blades. Arm goes flying off.
I would not be surprised if this was ER's last season. It really has "jumped the shark". In other words, the producers wanted to get the audiences' attention by pulling something like this. Now the show will never be the same and ratings will drop. This will cause the show to cancel. This seems to happen to shows that have been around for 8-9 years. That's my prediction.... we will see what comes of it in the next couple of months.

So wait... why were they having the patients leave? I caught the last part of ER, and I was kinda confused why the ER was empty.

Ok, they had to evacuate the hospital because of the small pox contamanation. At first, they just evacuated the ER. Then this time they evacuated the whole hospital as a precaution. The small pox cases were from the season finally from last season. The only ones who stayed was Carter and Abby and a few other people.

I finally watched the tape of ER. The arm thing was soo disgusting! The thing is, they had a pretty intense story going with the small pox and the quarentine and Elizabeth in London that it didn't really need Romano's arm as another story line. IMO, they went too far with the shock value.

JAG
Okay..sort of on/off topic....
I watched the season premiere. Bud had part of his leg amputated. Did this happen in real life?
Back to ER after someone answers my question,

I watched JAG, and I don't think it happened in real life, cuz I just looked it up online, and they didn't say anything about the actor, just about on the show, and something about Bud and the mine...
ER is really going for the shock value these last few seasons, I think the writers are all like "Let's see who we can put through the meat grinder (no pun intended) next..." Every season something bad had to happen to like three people, and I think it's just lazy writing! A little too overdramatic, but I guess it is ER, and drama sells...

Did anyone else find it amusing that the small pox turned out to be mutated monkey pox?
