dzsaigirl,
The Houston Delta Zeta site is terrific! Y'all have done a wonderful job!
My suggestion for getting more girls interested in Rush, if you haven't done this already, is to set up individual sorority tables during Orientation for incoming students, as well as tables that are set up during campus tour days. Have several sisters manning the tables, wearing letters of course, to talk about Delta Zeta and Greek Life in general so that the girls will know that there are Greek options for them to explore. If you can plant the seed early in their minds, they'll have a while to think about Rush.
Also, one thing that the North Georgia Panhellenic Association started this year was to hold an informal meeting for all female graduating high school seniors who were planning to attend schools in the state with Greek Life on campus. The meeting was called "It's All Greek To Me" and was advertised at the area high schools in the form of flyers, on the radio, and in the newspaper.
We invited alumna representatives from each of the NPC sororities to come out and decorate a table with their sorority memorabilia. The women were available to answer questions about their organizations and show the seniors the positive aspects of sorority life. Refreshments were served, and goodie bags were handed out that included Interesting Facts about Greeks, our anti-hazing policies, academic requirements, and other information that the girls and their parents could use to learn about Greek Life.
I think it was a great way to get girls interested in Rush, and because we held it just before their high school graduation we were able to reach a lot of girls at a time when they would start thinking about college and what they wanted to do when they started at their new schools.
Hope this helps you a little! Good luck with RUSH this year!!!
