My latest splurge was about two weeks ago. I purchased a black Coach Hamptons Carryall. I have been ckecing them out for a while and I convinced myself that this would be great for fall, so I bought it.
Honeykiss,
Good splurge, I know the one you're talking about, it's perfect for fall.

I'm doing research for my fall bag purchase right now, and I can't decide what to do. I was looking at the leather Kate Spade bags, but I've been very disappointed in the quality of my kate bags, despite how cute they are. I was going to do a Luis Vuitton, but I'm getting sick of how terribly label conscious everyone is right now. I want something beautiful, of good quality, but that doesn't have a label that screams.

My latest "splurge" was not really for me. My younger siblings in high school are raising money for their band trip to Flordia. They caught me on messenger and asked me to buy some stuff from them, so I bought 3 magazine subscriptions to benefit their trip Gosh, I'm such a cool sister

R.I.P. Phar-Mor

Since Phar-Mor went out of business recently everything was on sale at ridiculously low prices. So I super stocked up on makeup, hair care products, and just about everything else they still had in the store. I know everything I got is useful and I will go through it quicker than I think, but right now my bathroom closet looks a bit excessive.

Oh my GOSH! I almost forgot about that. If Mr. Army man can hurry up and get his butt over here from Airborne School, maybe it's a possibility! I know he's dying to go especially since this is his first time away from West Point...but for now he's busy jumping out of planes somewhere in Alabama.

I took my man out to dinner and a movie on a Saturday night, since I was tired of being trapped on campus since we're both poor. Two adult movies tickets and food at The Cheesecake Factory is definitely NOT cheap. I think we'll be trapped on campus this weekend

Since I'm trying to save for London and I'm unemployed, my splurge wasn't much. I got an expensive haircut, then bought new yoga pants and a top for my class that starts tomorrow.

Definitely the tattoo. That's the last big thing I'll be getting for quite a while. Expensive, but damn, was it worth it (and no, my parents still haven't seen it)! School starts soon, which means dues and books and other such expenses. I'll be back to being poor.

I just bought....

I just bought 3 shirts (tonight) on-line for going out, fri a pair of blue jean, a pair of black pants and two shirts, my sorority dues, a sorority license plate, a couple of sorority shirts, make-up, a couple of bills, vcr, tv stand, printer, alcohol, folders, and food. I spent a lot but now I'm going to start saving up my money because I'm not sure if i'm going to the pike homecoming formal.

Bye

Makeup

Is there a difference between different kinds of makeup? My girlfriend buys stuff from Stila and the only reason I know is because she took me to a Stila store where I managed to mess up some sort of dispenser on their wall. But if it's all powder that goes on your face or your lips...how much different can it get?

A few weeks ago I discovered at Nordstrom the wonderful MAC Anniversary Palates; little pocket sized palates of 6 eyeshadows and 2 blushes or 8 lip colors. So of course I did what any self-respecting spendaholic would do, I bought BOTH! (along with the cute little carrying case, of course)

Know what I discovered? MAC lasts and lasts and lasts! It outlasts my Clinique stuff, outlasts my Lancome, outlasts my Stila. So, my dear, by investing in MAC, you are SAVING money!!!

Not to mention, that the colors are fantastic! Where else can you have so much fun for $150.00???

Brava to you for being a savvy shopper!!

GASP! My dear Rudey..
When it comes to make-up there are MANY things to consider..

colors
consistency
formula (oily, dry, normal skin)
hip-ness (does it have all the trendy colors)
price
packaging (nothing like a cute compact )

oh there are sooo many differences

Violet:

Yes, I understand your dilemna. I purchased a Fenda Mama handbag (in the traditional double F design) last year and I noticed that this summer that logos(and knock-offs) are the "IT" thing, so i put mine away for a while. Then I needed a replacement, so hence the Coach.

JP Tod handbags are sleek, logo-less and are VERY nice.

I just got the silver bead bracelet from Tiffany for my best friend who is also going to be the Godmother of my son. Has anyone seen them- I think they are so neat and everyone is starting to get them around here so I thought I'd tell her thank you in a "blue box" sort a way!

Honeykiss:
I feel you on the Fendi bag, however, it is an "investment" purchase. Treat it right and you'll be able to use it again in ten years...or at least sell it as a "vintage" Fendi on ebay.
JP Tods is a fabulous suggestion, I had literally not looked at those at all.
Thanks!
