The presentation was last month, but unfortunately it was a closed event

From what I've heard, rush will begin in January sometime, and the girls will be moving into their housing in the fall.

Dear KDs,
How would one find out more about the future KD colony at ASU?
Have you got any information in your magazine The Angelos or anything like that?

Please let us know as someone else on another thread could potentially be interested...

I'm right here in the thick of things in Phoenix, so I'll post on here once I get more info. Info will be in the Angelos but probably not until after the recolonization has already happened. You could also try the ASU website - I'm sure they'll be posting rush info on there.

Hi. I am the author of that thread that Cutie posted. Heh.

I'm very interested in getting involved with the colonizing here at ASU.

So, I was wondering where I could find information about dues/pledge fees etc. for Kappa Delta. I have to pitch this whole idea to my family, and make it seem like a really good thing. She's kinda money centric, so any help here would be great. I don't know how much you can divulge, but I would really appreciate it if I could get info on how much pledge dues/regular semester dues/pins etc is going to cost if I do end up joining.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this has changed or not, but when I pledged in 1998 these were the fees:

pledge fee $55 (one time fee)
initiation fee $150 (one time fee - includes lifetime subscription to the Angelos)
chapter dues $47/mo
house note $150 or $15/mo for 10 months (once yearly)
live-in rent varied from $250-$375/mo
live-out rent varied from $100-$200/mo
security deposit $80 (one time fee - refundable upon graduation)
key deposit $5 (one time fee - refundable upon graduation)
my pin was about $56 I think? for the standard one

A lot of this will be different, given that this was 4 years ago, and at a different school, but it should give you a general idea. When you're rushing don't be shy about asking financial questions. This is a huge commitment and you want to make sure you have all the information first.

I hope to see you at rush in the spring! I'm the AA president here in Phoenix so I will definitely be there!

Thanks! I know I'll definately come out to an info session for sure. I've been checking out the KD website, and all sorts of info. Your organization seems to be really great, and I'm very involved in your type of philanthropies. Children's organization like cancer, abuse, etc. are the philanthropies that I personally donate my time to.

Thanks again for your help.

You haven't heard any news because there hasn't been any to tell! Every time I talk to someone at HQ the date gets later. We had been hearing late February for awhile, and now they're saying March, so we'll just have to wait and see, I think! It would be nice if people could just make up their minds...

Recruitment is Feb 14-16

In my mailing from HQ that I got today, it said recruitment at ASU for KD would take place February 14-16, with initiation in early April I believe.

Yeah KD!

ASU Chapter

Hey,

I just wanted to congradulate all you girls on sending some amazing CLC's to ASU to help out. I got the chance to meet them today and they are the best. I am with Gamma Phi here on campus and I sat in on the Panhellenic meeting today that they spoke at and everyone is so excited that you guys are here.

Your girls are talking to everyone! It is amazing that there is only two of them because they are doing the work of 20+ girls.

We have had a problem in the past about getting new sororities on and we just lost another one last year but, I can just tell that this is going to be an amazing rush for you guys!!! I am so excited to have another sorority here on campus. I can tell if is going to be a strong one.

I wish you the best of luck!

~Parker

20 of my wonderful sisters went to ASU to help w/ the new chapter... judging from what they said, it was an amazing trip, and the new chapter got a lot of really awesome girls (not sure how many)... sounds like everything went great though!
