Oh my goodness!!! I am so happy!!!
Ideal is only going to be an hour and a half away from me. Girl, we have to get together. I'm definitely going to holla at you the next time I go home, whenever that is 
You will really like DC. The shopping is great and so are the men-folks.
What prompted the move, love, work, being too far away from CT4, or just a need for new scenery?

Hey girls!!! (waving) i know i've been MIA for some time. I feel like i've either been on the railroad or in da fields... cause they got a sista slavin'. So much so that i don't even have time to write personal emails any more... let alone get on GC. WT*beep*? Ya'll know i'm all about chillin' in the workplace. That's probably what i get, huh?
Anyways... Ideal let me know if there's anything i can do to help. I can't wait... !!!! oh, btw... i'm working on a project..a shirt and it's turning out pretty good.... (freaking it)

Can you hook up with a Brother? I'm only four hours away and often in DC. My aunt Marshina is a professor there and I kick it with her all the time. I'll have to invite you over for some Alpha punch.
P.S. Before anyone gives me a hard time, this is just a friendly invite - - - I'm staying out of trouble - lol!!!

Thank yall for the well wishes!!! I was getting discouraged because this mess is not easy. But yesterday, I thanked God for the experience. It's new, and I'm gonna learn so much and come out of this SO much stronger. I'm excited to be able to look back on how I did this.

Ok, I'm rested and can finish now
Let me just say, I will be glad when this move is all over. I am tired and stressed. But I'm making it.
Classylady, my decision came from a few things, pretty much all that you listed (CT4, please deflate the big head, lol ), just not the way you meant them, probably. I just needed a new environment. There is no job, yet, but I'm still searching, but I had to let this one here go. And the love also gets left here, hopefully I will find some there, lol, if not, I'm cool with myself. And yes, this will put me closer to CT4 and my spec. All in all, I feel like it is a win/win situation for me!!!
People, people, can a sista get a job?!?!? LOL After I find some gainful employment, I will most def be in NYC, Philly, etc. And you KNOW I will let yall know!!! Once I get a job, I can travel and partake in the libation that is Alpha Punch! However, if you are willing to sponsor a sista, I will be able to visit and whatnot whenever! lol *sigh* I feel so loved!
Heffa Ex, I regret to tell you that there may not be any after Turkey Day festivities for me. If I am settled and secure financially, then I'm still there. But for now, I doubt it.
Time for lunch...

Ideal08, be careful in DC, man. Like everyone has mentioned, the shopping, the guys, the homecomings...sigh. I stayed there one summer (and I have been to my share of HBCU homecomings) and trust me, I did NOT want to leave. The only thing that got me was the traffic lights being on the SIDE of the road, lol. They know SO much better than to do that in the south, we run redlights when they are overhead anyway, lol. That was my first encounter with those, til I found there were more cities like that. Oh well, librasoul is a careful driver now (in a fast and furious kind of way).
Anyway, I wish you the best in your job search! It will work out, I just know it. Follow your HEAD and the rest will follow. Also? DC has a great music scene.

LAWD HOW DID I MISS *THIS* THREAD!!!
1. Ideal, you are in my prayers for a safe move.
2. As a Howard Alumn I can tell you you will have a ball at homecoming.
2. D.C. is a wonderful city and I have several peeps in the area that I visit so put me down for the GC social in DC !
3. N.J. is not far from D.C. so if you come to N.Y. (and TRUST you will be in N.Y.) I'm down for a social .
4. Like Fee Fee said...find a church home.
5. One word of advice. I was a Alpha Sweetheart....Stay away from the Alpha Punch  ! That stuff could fly a plane. (sorry Professor ) We called it '06 juice when I was in school.
I'm so excited for you, but dang you will still be kinda far from CT4.

LOL @ the Alpha punch flying a plane!!! LOL LOL I will be CLOSER to CT4, now!!! And I will DEFINITELY will be finding a church home. I've been slippin' lately.
Yall, I'm almost done. I just have to pack the rest of my clothes, and I'm done. It is bittersweet, really. Each day, I'm realizing how much I'm going to miss everyone, even the Ex.  BUT, I am SOOOO excited to just GET THERE!!! But time is flying as it is, so I'll just relax, lol, before tomorrow will be here and I won't be ready to leave.
I will be without my computer from tomorrow until the 23rd when i get there. TRUST it will be the first thing to get set up. Pitiful, I know.
For all those who have moved... were you scared as the day approached? I'm scurred, lol. I know I'll be aight, but I'm still scurred. I'm feeling a host of emotions, really. I'm just ret to go.
