The old chapters are a hell of a lot more valuable than the new ones. If a national shuts down a 150 year old chapter with 100 actives, 3000 alumni, and a 3 million dollar house and then they colonize a new chapter with 40 actives and no house that isn't exactly even swap.

I think average chapter size is also down. Even if the org has 10% more chapters they could be losing ground if the average chapter size is down by more than 10%.

Because this isnt part of the thread this will be my last post to you here.

you DID tell me that a few months ago when you messaged me out of the blue on AIM. I asked you what GLo you told me and said you werent in it anymore that you had quit because you didnt want to pay the fees, and said it didnt bother you because you were in other things. You also began asking me what I got out of my GLO experience. We also argued about the fees excuse and why when you quit your GLO and seemingly didnt care abotu greek life why you continue to come to GC.

I didnt meant to post it here, but when I tried to respond to your PM your box was full....

Again sorry to hijack, it wont happen again here (not from me anyway).

Unhappy

What the heck does it matter how many get closed

What the heck does it matter what Organization had the most closings

The important thing as DeltaAlum said, it costs all of us!

An Old Chapter is closed down, money to the National drops from that Chapter.

A new Chapter is started, how long does it take to get an Alum base buit up to donate to National and the local Chapter!

I am not a rocketteer, but the math seems pretty simple, DA!

That is total bullshit. There is not a single person on GC that has ever received a AIM from me. I don't even use AIM and why the hell would I IM you in the first place? Post the IM or PM it to me so I can see it. It sure as hell wasn't from me. There are 3 other GC members with the name Madmax and about 10 members with the name Max or Maximus. Mabye one of them AIMd you but it wasn't me. Get your facts straight before you post bullshit like that.

Reading through that site, many of those aren't hazing related at all. They're *alcohol* related.

We should all understand how not to abuse alcohol. But sometimes it's not something that the organization has any control of. People in college, GLO members or not will always drink to excess. It's just the American way.

But if you look at MGLOs or whatever it is we abbreviate them at, they just don't have large chapters. I think a national sorority with 90 chapters that averages 60 members a chapter is a lot more impressive than one with 160 chapters that averages 9 members a chapter.
