I definitely have more school pride being in college. I didn't like HS all that much and couldn't wait to get out of there. Also, a lot of the student body at my HS were slackers who had the "i dont give a f--k" mentality. All the wanted to do was surf. All these guys who thought they were too cool for things..never sang at pep rallies, didn't care about the school, etc. Especially in my grade. They didn't even sing at graduatioin so we sounded like crap!!!! Plus sports wise we were terrible. So that never made it fun either. And I hate how you are treated like a child in HS....passes for the bathroom and the locker, not being allowed to leave campus for lunch, having the security guards ask you a million questions if you are caught outside class--even with a pass!!! I'm sorry, but that is not preparing you for the real world. But in college most people are there cause they want to be as opposed to cause they have to be and so that contributes a lot the the pride, I think. And my school did awesome in bball and football last year and should do it again this year so that makes it easier to have pride.

I liked high school, but I definitely think my high school was kind of atypical. The popular kids weren't snobs, and most people got along pretty well with everybody. I would have hated it if it had been like a "normal" high school with all the cliques.

I'm kind of a stereotypical girl though; I loved going to football games, and I never once considered not going to Prom.

I love my University, but I have so much pride in my high school.

When I got into a car accident a couple of years ago [I had just graduated from HS], they recited a special prayer for me at the morning flag raising. My class only had 90 girls and we knew where everyone went after graduation!

The private school system is a very big thing here in Hawaii, and I noticed that there's much more alumni pride when it comes to private schools. As far as the public schools go, the pride's stronger in schools which are located in more rural communities.

When it comes to who gets my alumna donations, I won't think twice about donating to Sacred Hearts Academy.

Honestly, I had much more "school pride" in High School than I do now in college.

I went to EVERY H.S. football game my Junior and Senior years in H.S. I went to most of the ASU games my freshman year, but I haven't been to once since, and I'm a Jr. now.

I'm not sure why this is. I mean, I am proud to go to Arizona State, but I'm more proud of my individual organizations than I am of ASU overall. (Sorority, Newman Center etc...)

I'm not sure if it's that in H.S. I was good friends with all the football players, and super involved in Student Govt.

Hmm....
