Good luck with COR. It's a lot of work, but can also be very rewarding when the bids come back. Kinda like instant gratification! (Don't forget those New Members are your life-line to MORE new members!)
Let us know how you do. How many more do you need to reach total? Crossing my fingers for ya!
And CONGRATS on the New Members!

I just find it frustrating going through recruitment and then having girls say that they didn't like AOII b/c the guys don't like us b/c we are too competitive in events like Homecoming and Greek Week. Did y'all have this problem or have you encountered this problem in the past? I know each person joins b/c of different reasons, but shouldn't one join a chapter that fits them and not join b/c of a guy?
Sorry, just had to rant!

Whoa Azra, are you saying that PNMs say that they don't like AOII because the guys say we're too competitive? Do we usually win these types of events on your campus (and maybe the guys don't like losing all the events )? Do you have good relationships with the other chapters on your campus? Maybe a little of Greek PR is needed to combat these opinions or something along those lines?
Seriously, yes of course a PNM should choose a chapter that fits them. Hopefully the recruitment staff there does everything in their power to communicate to the PNMs that choosing a sorority is their choice and not to listen to anyone else. It almost sounds like "tent talking" in a way and it's just not fair to anyone involved.
PS: Ranting can be a good thing, so don't dare apologize to us
Good luck!
Roses,
Christin

Kappa Tau took Quota plus 1 for 26!
The Oklahoma Colony has a new member class of about 84! From what I understand, we got the cream of the crop. There was a special guest of honor at the ceremony. A 91-year old alumna who transfered to OU in 1930 to help establish Xi. She handed each new member her rose. How is that for Sisterhood for a Lifetime?!
Good luck every one and let your light shine. Those who were meant to see it surely will.

Yes, PNM's are saying that about us. On our campus we do Homecoming with a different fraternity each year, and we have won the 2 years we have been on this campus. I don't know it's weird. We get along with all the fraternities--except one for breaking our A from our house--and they've never said anything like that. But--the 5 girls we did get are awesome girls and they are girls that we really really wanted!

Azra, check your PM, I sent you a novel there
Wow--that's just awesome about winning Homecoming. Then again, it's weird to me that people (aka: GUYS) would say that it's a bad thing to be involved, active and yes competitive.
Hurrah for our newest sisters! When will they be initiated?
Roses,
Christin

The girls should be initiated sometime around the first of November to the middle of November.
Well, it's true, us AOII'ers are very competitve when it comes to Homecoming and Greek Week and Panhellenic Football! *l* We love being involved. I should be updating our webpage soon--it's been down for years--and hopefully I can get everything up. Pictures and all!
