I'm a complete packrat when it comes to packing things, so I probably will pack all of my closet! Like when I went to Germany this summer with a group, we could bring two suitcases...I was one of the only ones to use both of their suitcases right away! :P Most of the clothes I bring I could probably wear to other things besides recruitment, except for maybe the dresses. But as for dresses, would you suggest casual dresses or ones that are a little more fancy, like ones you'd wear to a high school dance (excluding prom)?

UWGirl -
First of all - Good luck with recruitment and HAVE FUN! Its a stressful, fun, tiring, unique experience! I hope you like Chi O at your school - I know that joing Chi Omega was the best decision I made last year (my freshman year), but you will see which sorority is right for you! As far as clothes go, I know my school sent out a mailer that told you how formal the dress was each day. But, i think its pretty much the same everywhere, the first two days are nice, but not to dressy, maybe a casual skirt or nice pants/capris, the next day is usually like a summery dress, and pref night is very formal - usually a nice black dress. I'm sure your Rho Chis will help you if you have any questions. Like ChiOqt - I also brought my entire closet! Have fun and remember to just be yourself!

Thanks so much for the message! During orientation, I put sororities on my list of student org. interests, but never got info. I've been trying to find out some things from e-mailing the sororities and uw's panhel. I haven't managed to find a schedule or anything though b/c all the websites are outdated! But still, I'm getting so excited!!!! I'm jealous of the girls I read about on here that are already starting recruitment!

I would stick to more casual dresses...with the most dressy being for pref, maybe a knee length black dress!

That seemed a little hostile... I am sure she was just browser and wanted to say hello. It seemed to be a very nice comment on KappaStarGirl's behalf.

I''m sure KKG has a wonderful chapter at UW and elsewhere. I would hope that the KKG board would be a good place to discuss that.

SororityGirl2,
I don't think H2oot was saying a Kappa couldn't post things about her sorority on our board, but that UWGirl could discuss things about them with her on their board as well (like what she's doing on our's).
But I agree, that both boards are great for discussion and no one should feel like they can't express opinions here or there.

All this rush talk is making me miss being active!!

And H2oot's the classiest of them all, I am sure she didn't mean any harm with her previous comment.

UWgirl, I am sure you'll have a great time at rush and that you'll find a house that you completely love!! Good luck and keep posting!

Hi! Even though rush isn't for a little while (I don't even move in for another 1 1/2 weeks!), I've been going through some of my clothes, thinking about the things I might be able to wear to the different events! I've been reading carnation's thread about her daughter going through rush, and I envy that her daughter (ballerina) is almost done with the whole process...and hey, one of her houses she's returning to is chi-o! (the other is phi mu) Are there a lot of other schools that haven't started rushing yet?

Hey UWgirl! I am not sure about all the other FL schools, but I know my girls, PSI MU, at UCF, are started rush yesterday (I think). UF's rush is this coming week. What an exciting time!

Today, I was in Madison, moving some of my things into my dorm room, so I drove down Langdon St. ("Greek Row") to check out some of the houses. I didn't get time to look closely, but I saw two houses with Chi-O's letters on them...I'm guessing they're moving??? Oh well, both of the houses looked really nice!!

My chapter will begin Recruitment next Tuesday. I'm alum so I won't have to participate, but my school has always done it the week before school starts. I know the University of Nebraska at Lincoln is the same way...and I'm almost certain that all University of Nebraska schools are this way.
