LAAAAAAAAAWD WHY?!!??!?!?!?!???!?!
It looks like the serial killer may be a BLACK MAN.
Article #1:
Search on for serial killer suspect Lee
By ADRIAN ANGELETTE
Advocate staff writer
Derrick Todd Lee of St. Francisville is wanted in the deaths of five Louisiana women linked to the serial killer
Local, state and federal authorities launched a nationwide manhunt Monday for a convicted stalker and peeping Tom from West Feliciana Parish who is suspected of being the serial killer.
A warrant issued Monday for Derrick Todd Lee, 34, whose last known address was 4273 Highway 61 in St. Francisville, says his DNA matches the DNA of the man who has killed at least five women in Baton Rouge and Lafayette since September 2001.
City Police Chief Pat Englade, leader of the serial killer task force, said Lee is 6 feet 1 inch tall, about 210 pounds with light to medium complexion, short hair and a muscular build. He was thought to be clean shaven.
Police do not know what type of vehicle he is driving.
Englade said Lee should be considered armed and dangerous. He urged anyone with information about Lee's whereabouts to call their local police department or the Multi-Agency Homicide Task Force at 1-866-389-3310.
DNA has linked the same man to the deaths of Gina Green in September 2001 and, since then, Charlotte Murray Pace, Pam Kinamore, Dene Colomb and Carrie Lynn Yoder. The task force was formed about 10 months ago, after Kinamore's death was linked to Green's and Pace's.
State District Judge Richard Anderson signed a warrant for Lee's arrest on Monday. The warrant accuses Lee of first-degree murder and aggravated rape in the Yoder case.
The warrant, requested by Baton Rouge police detective John L. Colter, said a DNA sample taken from Lee on May 5 matches the sample of the killer's DNA taken from Yoder's body.
The FBI also has issued an arrest warrant accusing Lee of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
This composite sketch was released Friday of a man wanted in three incidents in St. Martin Parish
Police mug shots of Lee resemble a sketch released Friday of a man wanted in three incidents, including an attempted rape, in the Breaux Bridge area of St. Martin Parish last year. However, police did not say if Lee is a suspect in those incidents.
East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Doug Moreau said he cannot comment about the investigation because he wants to make sure he does not compromise the prosecution. "There is not a whole lot of information we are allowed to give or should give," Moreau said.
Moreau said the goal is to bring Lee to trial in East Baton Rouge Parish where four of the five serial killings took place. Colomb's body was found in Scott, outside Lafayette.
Jane Lee, who identified herself as Derrick Lee's grandmother when contacted by phone in St. Francisville, told the Associated Press that police had questioned her Monday morning about her grandson's whereabouts. She said she had last seen him about three weeks ago.
Jane Lee said her grandson is married and has two children, a son who is about 12 and a daughter several years younger. She said she was concerned about the warrant but declined to answer further questions.
LSU Chancellor Mark Emmert described the latest developments as "wonderful news."
Three of the five known victims -- Green, Pace and Yoder -- lived near LSU. The university has spent thousands of dollars beefing up security on campus and repeatedly warned students to be on guard at all times and to not even go jogging by themselves.
Emmert said that no decision has been made about how to pass information about Lee to students at the school.
"I think that face will be widely seen," Emmert said. "Now we can bring this to an appropriate conclusion."

Serial killer suspect's DNA matches samples from Yoder's body
2TheAdvocate Online report
The Multi-Agency Homicide Task Force announced today that Derrick Todd Lee is wanted in the deaths of five women linked to the south Louisiana serial killer. A DNA sample taken from Lee on May 5 was a match for DNA evidence found on the body of Carrie Lynn Yoder, a police release said.
The suspect is wanted in Yoder's death as well as the deaths of Pam Kinamore, Charlotte Murray Pace, Gina Wilson Green and Trineisha Dené Colomb.
Lee, a 34-year-old black male, matches the physical description of a suspect composite released Friday in the investigation of three crimes in St. Martin Parish. There was no mention today if Lee was the suspect in the St. Martin incidents.
Lee's last known address is 4273 Hwy. 61 in St. Francisville. Authorities said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
Several local, state and federal officials were on hand at the 10:30 a.m. announcement at the parking lot of the Office of Emergency Preparedness, 3773 Harding Blvd. Those attending included the mayor, attorney general and the LSU chancellor.
East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Doug Moreau gave only a brief statement concerning the case. "This case will move into a new phase upon an arrest," Moreau said.
The FBI announced that they have filed an unlawful flight to avoid prosecution motion against Lee.

I don't agree with this. When I heard about this during my lunch break, I was like whah?
IF this is the dude, AND the serial killer was a brotha, then the world....
Anyway, I think that the law enforcement officials are DESPERATE for SOMEONE to be the SUSPECT! If these officials would have SUSPECTED that the perp was a BLACK man, there would have been an APB, dogs, horses, mules, chickens, etc. looking high and low for this man.
I need more than the sketch! GIVE ME THE DNA which PROVES he is the one.
WHAT non-AA woman, even an AA woman would WILLINGLY go with a non-white MAN ANYWHERE? C'mon now! They said the person was someone you could trust! OKAYYYYYY, THIS IS LOUISIANA....THA SOUTH! WHAT NON-AA WOMAN IS GOING TO TOTALLY TRUST A BROTHA?
I need more....NEXXXXXXXTTTTTTTTT!

Girl, this is some D-R-A-M-A!!!! I was watching the news during lunch as well and they have set this brotha up!! I am not going to say that it is him and it won't say that it's not him.
Quote:
The thing is that they have set him up like in the Old West. East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Doug Moreau said he cannot comment about the investigation because he wants to make sure he does not compromise the prosecution. "There is not a whole lot of information we are allowed to give or should give," Moreau said.

WTF?? They may as well have posted his picture with WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE!! surrounding it because that's the way it is. I am no expert, BUT they posted the man's address, criminal record, personal info, etc. on TV. This is giving all the angry people of the state (and beyond) free range.
What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Suddenly, his DNA has been linked to ALL of the murders and will probably be linked to the HUNDREDS of other unsolved murders of Louisiana women. If he's innocent, may the Lord be with him because they are going to hang him high from a tree. But if he's guilty, he needs to burn, baby, burn because he had NO RIGHT to take the lifes of those women.
We have to stay on top of this case.

I know that this is a serious issue, but this comment really made me laugh out loud...mainly because it's so true!! They've given no indication whatsoever that this man was black...you know if they would have had the slightest indication, they would still be interrupting programming to bring updates!

Correction
There was actually a news conference held recently stating that the serial may be a fair skinned black, mixed, or hispanic male whereas the original profile stated that it was a white male.
We have DNA matches. Three weeks ago, Lee, known now as the 'prime suspect' voluntarily gave a DNA swab to clear his name in an unrelated unsolved murder dating back to 1992. Around the same time his wife withdrew their kids from school, saying that they were immeadiately moving to California. However Lee was spotted tonight in Atlanta. Why's an innocent man running cross-country.
BTW, we did not think that the snipers were black either.

His DNA was taken on May 5th. Yesterday was May 26, uhhhhhh if he WAS suspected why did it take sooooooooo long for them to get an arrest warrant. I smell BS!
Lee's DNA was taken along with other men.
This ex-con was on the morning news (he and Lee spent time together in the pen) and said that he had this fixation with white women, etc.

I am not saying that it isn't him, as I and others are also NOT going to say it IS him. The facts are:
1. We started with NO suspects.
2. Then, it turned to a white male in a white pickup truck.
3. Preliminary sketch #1:
4. Then, we were still looking for a white male in a white pickup truck.
5. Preliminary sketch #2:
6. Then, it turned to a VERY attractive, charming light skinned black male driving a gold Mitsubishi
7. Preliminary sketch #3:
8. SUDDENLY, now we have him:
Since I went to school for journalism, TV/radio, etc., I know NOT to take the media at face value. I also know that the police are DESPERATE to solve this case. The ULTIMATE POINT as 2D so wonderfully stated earlier, If they have been having his DNA, which linked him to these murders for THREE WEEKS, why are we just hearing about it? I KNOW they would have been on his arse like white on rice!!!

Lee Arrested In Atlanta
BATON ROUGE, La., 8:55 p.m. CDT May 27, 2003 - Serial killer suspect Derrick Todd Lee has been arrrested, Atlanta officials say.
Lee was picked up by the Atlanta Fugutive Squad Tuesday at about 8 p.m. on Banquette Highway.
As the list of possible victims grew to include one high-profile case involving the wife of a former state official, a nationwide manhunt was launched, with law enforcement paying special attention to a report that he is working in the Atlanta area.
In what they are calling a "significant development," sources told WDSU NewsChannel 6 reporter Helena Moreno that new information may connect Lee, 34, of St. Francisville, to the abduction of Mari Ann Fowler, the wife of former Louisiana Elections Commissioner Jerry Fowler.
Fowler, 65, disappeared Christmas Eve 2002, from the parking lot of a Port Allen sandwich shop. She has not been seen since.
Citing the ongoing investigation, sources would not release details about the possible lead.
Atlanta Connection Stumps Authorities
Lee was seen Monday afternoon at a motel in southeast Atlanta, where witnesses said he held barbecues and even invited people over for a Bible-study class, according to Georgia Marshal Richard Meechum.
Meechum said Lee's movements have been monitored since May 5, when he gave a DNA sample to police in Louisiana. Lee had been tracked to Chicago and Atlanta, where he is thought to be working as a day laborer -- possibly as a concrete finisher or in some other construction capacity.
Police in Atlanta said they think Lee's two children are with his wife, but an exact location was not given. They also talked about a conversation Lee allegedly had with his girlfriend, who then reported it to police.
"She said, 'I think that they know that you're the one who has killed the women here in Louisiana,'" Meechum said, "at which point he abruptly ended the conversation, hung up the telephone and left."
Officials in Atlanta said Lee has been in that city twice, most recently in the past few days. Meechum said Lee is traveling by bus and last was spotted downtown. They do not know what his connection is to the area, but officials are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Georgia Bureau of Investigation at (800) 597-TIPS (8477).
At a news conference Tuesday in St. Francisville, West Feliciana Parish Sheriff Austin Daniel issued a statement directly to Lee.
"I met with your mother this morning," Daniel said. "For the sake of her health, she has asked me to ask you to please turn yourself in."
Police issued a murder warrant Monday for Lee after officials linked his DNA to one of five deaths in Baton Rouge and Lafayette.
According to the warrant, DNA tests connect Lee to the killing of Louisiana State University graduate student Carrie Yoder, whose body was found in March near Whiskey Bay. The same DNA was found on four other murdered women: Gina Green, Murray Pace, Pam Kinamore and Dene Colomb.
The FBI also issued a warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Police released a photo of Lee and asked the public to help locate him.
List Of Possible Vicitms Grows
Police obtained Lee's DNA because they were investigating him for an unconnected disappearance in the Baton Rouge suburb of Zachary.
Zachary Police Chief Joey Watson said a recent tip about the disappearance of Randi Mebruer, who vanished from her home in April 1998, combined with a review of Lee's criminal history, led police to ask Lee for a DNA sample.
Watson said a detective in neighboring East Feliciana Parish received a tip from one of Lee's relatives, who said Lee was discussing the Mebruer case. Watson said that tip was passed along to the state Attorney General's Office, which obtained the court order for Lee's DNA.
He said Zachary police also suspect Lee is connected to the murder of Connie Warner, who was found dead in September 1992.
Those cases have not been linked to the serial killer, but Watson believes they all are connected. Watson said DNA evidence found in the Mebruer case is still being tested.
But the list of possible victims doesn't end with the Zachary murders. Louisiana Attorney General Richard Ieyoub said Tuesday that his office is now working with police in West Baton Rouge Parish on two more unsolved cases: the January 2002 murder of Geralyn Desoto and the abduction of Fowler.
Baton Rouge Police Chief Pat Englade says Lee is to be considered armed and dangerous.
Lee has an arrest record dating back to the late 1980s for offenses that include battery, stalking and peeping.
He was described as a light-skinned black male, 6 feet 1 inch tall and 210 pounds, clean-shaven with short hair or perhaps a shaved head, and a muscular build. Police say they don't know what type of vehicle Lee drove.
Victim's Mother Speaks Out On 'Today'
Meanwhile, the serial killer investigation is garnering national attention.
At the forefront is Lynne Marino, the mother of victim Pam Kinamore. Marino appeared Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show to talk about whether she thinks Lee will be found.
"He will be apprehended with Pam's intervention," Marino said. "People realize the crimes he's committed, and I dedicate myself now to the search for him. We're going to hunt him down and search for him like he searched for his victims."
Marino also told NBC's Katie Couric that she's angry and frustrated with what she thinks was shoddy police work.

C-O-N-...
spiracy.
Not one, but TWO Black killers in one year. I can't take it. WTF is really goin' on??? Something is not right about this. What else is going on in LA politically? Example, the DC Sniper coverage distracted us from knowing that Congress voted to let Bush declare war. We missed that paying attention to who the sniper shot that day. Is there anything else going on down there? Because after looking at RD's illuskrations (LOL), this all sounds real suspect. What's funny is that we, too, started out looking for a white man in a white truck. And ended up with a black man. I wonder was this Lee dude practicing strangling dolls out in Washington state? Lemme stop...

Well, my dear, great minds do think alike...
Has anyone noticed that we don't really hear too much about the snipers anymore? I don't know about other cities, but it is ancient history here....
We are in the midst of a governor's race, as well as ongoing drama in the Big Easy. Hey, politics is the FOUNDATION of Louisiana.
There is a lot to be learned about this case and since I will so thankfully be off for the summer, I have nothing but time to crack the conspiracy. I will keep you all on top of this story.
By the way, where are the weapons of mass destruction....?

On Good Morning America this morning, they reported that the Baton Rouge police dept. is now looking through their old unsolved murders/missing persons cases to see if Lee may have comitted any of those too?
Do I smell another attempt to make up for the outcome of the OJ trial? Goodness, they are trying to pin any and everything on this man! Not to say that Lee's a saint or anything, but still, the manner in which this all came to fruitrion seems "suspect".
