ha ha ha... Yeah... the little spell your name out necklaces haven't been popular since I was, like, 6, maybe? But what anchorjenni's explaining is right. Oh, and you mean Kate Spade's have been around longer than a year? Yeah, we're a little slow in the south. I did see someone come into the country club today with the Tiffany's bracelet/necklace on... and I plan to buy a knock-off tomorrow, on tax-free day... so maybe we're finally catching up. Y'all have to understand, too, that I'm only aware of one Tiffany's anywhere near here... in Charlotte... and it's closed every time I go there (not like I actually go there to GO there, but it's in the mall I love). We've finally got a Saks in the same place. But, other than that, we're pretty limited to Ann Taylor, Nine West, Limited, Gap, Banana Republic, Abercrombie, J. Crew, and Guess. And this is at the really ritzy mall. I wouldn't know where to get a pair of Manolo Blahnik's, and the only reason I even know they exist is from watching Sex and the City. So, yeah, we still wear sorority beads... 5 or so years late. But maybe the Tiffany's bracelets will catch on?

thanx carolina dg!
Alright, NOW I know what you're talking about. Thanks CarolinaDG. I think I have a necklace like that from high school. Maybe I'll dig it out and start a trend.

Over in RU its all about the "knock off" tiffany bracelet and necklace. One of my sisters even have her bracelet engraved with our letters on the heart and its totally cute! Tons of silver jewelry is worn also. Also the kate spade hand bags (even though those are so expensive). Sometimes, and I hate to say this, people come to the campus and sell ones that "have fallen off the truck" if ya know what I mean (wow I sound like tony soprano or something). Well I bought one of those for myself and my big! But those are the major trends here.

I was randomly looking around ebay and found an ebay seller who sells sterling silver necklaces (and matching earrings) with the silver greek-lettered beads. They aren't Tiffany's, but they make a really cute set

They sell ours over anchor trader... the ones with beads with the engraved circle, and also the tiffany-style bracelets with an engraved heart. I dunno if y'all have an equivalent to anchor trader (I'm sure y'all do, though... even my service sorority had a small version).

CarolinaDG, yep, Deltasig has their own jewelry provider, and they also have the Tiffany-style toggle necklaces that you can put the greek letters on them! I think those are so cute! Sometimes it's hard finding really cute jewelry since it is a co-ed fraternity!
PnguinTrax, you have some amazing styles of jewelry on your site!!!

I don't think I've seen those on any California sorority girls... can a west-coast sister verify?

ummm yea... haven't seen those here either... hahha
i think its all about the tiffany bracelets (half of my chap has the heart and half has the return to tiffanys circle one)...
and almost everyone has the open floating heart...
it's funny now you mention it.. i never quite realized...
almost everyone has a tiffany's item on.. as well as a kate spade/guess/prada bag.
i dunno if it this is everywhere.. but alot of sorority girls here tie ribbons in their hair in a pony tail too..

I do not know where I have been but I thought that Tiffanys just came out with the bracelet last January or around Christmas time. At least that is when they got it in the chicago store. I wish I would have know that everyone had it, I just bought one because I thought that it was different and casual enough to wear with jeans and a sweater. I love tiffany's jewlery that no one has yet.

Sorority beads aren't big at my school. In fact, I don't think I've seen anyone wearing them. The Tiffany's heart bracelet and necklace is really big though. Right after Reese Witherspoon wore it in Legally Blonde it seemed like every sorority girl on my campus had it.

The Tiffany bracelet is just starting to hit at LSU. I got mine last year for my birthday; I had a fake for a year before that and I was the only one that I noticed with it.
I did the Fake Spade and knockoff heart bracelet in late 2000/early 2001. I got the real things for my birthday last year (although I went with the plain circle tag and the KS Claire just to be a little bit different).
Nearly 2 years after having my fake Sam, I'm starting to see them pop up around here.
I got the Elsa Peretti open heart last Christmas. So far, I'm the only one around here with it
Has anyone else noticed that Lizzie McGuire wears the heart bracelet/necklace, as well as the Elsa Peretti open heart? I always thought it was a bit much for a 12 year old to be sporting that much Tiffany's

Hmm, I can't say I'm a big fan of the silver bead necklace... Almost every girl I know (although, remarkably, not too many of my sisters, and if so, they don't really wear them often) has the Tiffany's heart and bracelet set.
I also like the Elsa Perretti open heart necklace. Very simple and elegant.
XOXO,
Annie.
