speaking of dirty children...

Is there anything on earth that says low-class trash quite like this does??!

I know this is about shopping, but this is a peeve from a former food service person (Subway). One day a couple brought in their child and LET THE CHILD STAND ON THE COUNTER. You know, the counter we serve the FOOD on?? To keep from offending them by saying "get your rug rat's gross dirty feet off our counter" I said "oh please don't let him stand there, he could fall and hurt himself." The parents proceeded to SIT the child (in diaper only) on the counter. Oh, thank you, that's much better. You can bet that counter got an extra cleaning before they were even out the door. GROSS!!!!

Oh let me tell you grocery shopping just ticks me off!

I absolutely LOVE it when someone is walking on the wrong side of the lane with their big ass cart and you have to then move because they're coming full force at ya and aren't aware that this isn't England and that they should be walking on the other side of the isle...period!
Second, I hate it when I go to the fast check out lane and it's slow. Once I was baffeled at how it took the kid forever to swip everything and then in the meantime another lane opened up and some lady with a bazzilion things got on her way faster than me.
OR WORSE YET, is when you go to a lane that is taking forever, then swith to another lane you think will be faster, but ends up being slower. How frustrating!

As far as other shopping goes, I just get annoyed at peeps who don't bring their account number but want to charge...like at Blockbuster the other night this guy didn't even have his card and was going to a Blockbuster he didn't frequent so he had to have them call all the other stores and look under two different names. At least TRY to come prepared!

You hit the nail on the head. I drove by wal mart at about 1 a.m. and I swear it would have taken at least five mintues to find a parking place. The lot was as full as it could be on a saturday afternoon!!!
Something I really hate about grocery stores: when you cant decide which line is shorter, then you choose one and then the other line picks up. You realize you could have been out the store 10 min. ago if you went in the other line.

Or...
When you finally get towards the front of the line and the person in front of you has an item with no price. So now you gotta wait for the bag boy to go look for the item with a price.

Or...
When walking at the mall feels like driving in rush hour. You tail somebody so you can get an opening to go around them. Or when a huge family takes up the entire walking area so you gotta go around the big penny dropping pond to get in front of them.

One more...At the grocery store when the parking aisles only go in one direction (due to angle parking). Someone comes down the wrong way blocking you, but they look at you like you're the problem..WTF

Shopping pet peeves... pretty much any whiny children. Even though I know I was one too (I was pretty spoiled, I admit).

It's the parents fault, IMO. Most parents are either too permissive or too strict. They can get just as annoying

Sounds familiar?

Parent A:
Jeremy put those cookies down. Please. I beg you. If you don't put those cookies down I won't take you to the ice cream shop afterwords. I'm giving you a time-out...1...2...3. *Jeremy ignores his mother and runs away the box of cookies*

Parent B:
Jermaine if you don't put dem cookies down I'll whoop yo ass! *She knocks the cookies out of Jermaine's hands and grabs a phone cord or house shoe and whips him*

I love to shop, so I can think of a million pet peeves. Here goes:

Children: I do not like children, do not pretend to like children, and probably will not like children until they are my own. Until then, if a child is in my way, I will run it over like a speed bump if I have asked them nicely to move several times (hey, it's the parent's fault for not keeping them on a leash. Dogs get hit everyday with cars because they escaped. Why not stupid, bratty children?)

People with cell phones: Now we are in the 21st century and cell phones are a must have. However, if you are checking out with the cashier, and your cell phone rings, unless the call is majorly important (ie. emergency or business call), tell the person you will call them back. The cashier ringing you up has to wait for you to shut the hell up and pay her/him, which in turn holds up the line.

The parcel pick-up station at grocery stores: It's just what it's called..a parcel pick-up station. Not a "park your car in front of the grocery store while Susie runs in a does all of her shopping" station. I HATE people who sit in their cars infront of the grocery store. Now, if you are just running in to grab a few items, it's not that big of a deal. But when I enter the grocery store and exit the grocery store in 45 minutes and your car is STILL in the parcel-pickup station, you need to park your A$$ in a real spot and stop being such a jerk!

That being said, I think I am going to run out to the store and see what else I can't stand. Oh, and the part about the children being speed bumps, I was just kidding, even though I am tempted to run their little A$$ES over sometimes.

Poorly behaved preschool-aged children and parents who just let them run amuck. Babies I can excuse, they don't have control over their actions.

In the express lanes at the supermarket, DON'T TRY TO ENTER IF YOUR CART ITEMS ARE OVER THE DESIGNATED NUMBER. And believe me, I've done some of this when it's happened :

Difficulty in finding fashionable gear above a size 14. As I've said before, I dress in a basic/classic/country-club style. I don't want country cute or polyester sleaze clothes.

Seems like there is a children theme going on here...

Not a shopping story, but a pet peeve nonetheless--Two summers ago I went with my boyfriend to Hersheypark and were waiting in a long line for one of the roller coasters. Up ahead of us was a couple with a baby and while one went on the ride the other stood across the platform and held the baby. When the one got back they switched and the other person held the baby while the other one went on the ride. The line was long enough!Who does this?! Who brings an infant to an amusement park?!

Also, people who choose to pay by check and then don't even get their checkbook out until the clerk gives them their total (whereas I have everything filled out but the total and signature) and then fumble around in their purse looking for their driver's license. "What, you want to see ID? How unusual!"
I hate that too. Especially if we've all been in a line a while and they basically have no excuse. Then again, I think everyone should just get a check card already b/c they're so much easier but that also makes it harder to track your expenses...

I just thought about the time when I worked at Chick-Fil-A. Sometimes when people come to the drive thru and I ask them for their order, they tell me to wait while they make a phone call. Or at the pick up window when I am holding the food, they tell me to wait until they get off the phone. Never mind the 10 cars behind them

This is called Baby Swap... and it's part of most amusement parks. It's actually a *perk*. I would have to agree though... IF you are going to bring a baby to an amusement park, it's a little silly to think that both you and your spouse will both be able to ride all the rides you want by cutting in line.

Well, if they both waited in line the whole time, it makes sense that they should both be allowed to ride. It would be a different story if they got to go to the head of the line, just because they had a baby.

Why didn't they just tie the baby to the front of the roller coaster?

Sorry, I know. I'm going to hell.
