The "seven" symbol is SYRIAC, a language/alphabet used in
ancient syria that was a mix of Greek and the local syrian
language. Since Antioch, Syria, was the center of Christianity
for the middle of the first century (not to mention the 3rd largest
city in the "known" world at that time), many early Christian
writings were in Syriac....second only to Greek.
I think TKN chose the symbol because it is an ELEVEN and
because it fits nicely on the badge.
Oh, and I'd like to know where you found the colors of the
TKN pledge pin...all the ones I've seen are silver with 4
black triangles, or gold with 4 black triangles....but I've only
seen a couple.
Finally, it seems the question "where was the TKN/LXA
merger approved" went half answered....TKN's Grand Chapter
was meeting in Birmingham, AL at the same time LXA's
General Assembly was meeting in San Francisco. (Telegrams
used to communicate back and forth). WWII began (Germany
attacked Poland) on the day the union took effect (Sep 1, 1939).
The votes were taken the previous day.
Oh, and the TKN rose doesn't have 'thorns'...they are 'sepals'
the little leaf-like structures around the base of a flower.
But they do look like thorns
