This is the first that I've heard anything about a directory......Les did you get your email yet? Just wondering....maybe they're going in ABG order? You think?

I'm debating whether to change my directory address to my Atlanta address as I will be leaving school May 03. My main concern is...........is the address update ONLY for the directory publication OR for both IHQ AND the publication? I'm currently South GA perm. secretary and don't want my correspondence from IHQ going to Atlanta!

Be sure the IHQ has your correct email! LOL
IMHO, the directory changes will probably be for both IHQ and the Directory...keep in mind that the Directory won't be out for about another year or so..sometime in probably late 2003. Think of all those 100's++ of AGDs that IHQ didn't have valid emails for....
As for being Perm. Secretary ( , Audra and her great staff would send you the info directed to whatever current address they had for you at that time.
FYI, a great thing about the Internet is that an AGD can update on the IHQ website and then IHQ will forward to the appropriate Perm. Secretary (at least in case of GTau and Carroll County) by email if they have a valid email. Although, it would be better if the AGD contacts her Alumnae Chapter/Collegiate Chapter Perm. Secretary who, should, in turn, forward it to IHQ.
As a side note, I haven't been able to get the Submission to take the corrections so I emailed them to mail me a form.

Question...
Since the directory won't be coming out for another year or so, will we be able to send another update for our contact info? I'm living at home right now but I plan on moving by the end of the year. I wonder if there is a deadline to get the correct information in?

That's a good question, I was wondering the same thing myself. We would like to be in a house of our own by the time that the directory is published. That's the problem with these things...I would guess that about 20% of the addresses given by the directory are out of date by the time we receive them! Its nearly impossible to keep them updated.

It is just like Maps...they are NEVER current. By the time a map is published there are new roads and subdivisions.

Speaking of better late than never...
Can anyone believe that I actually just received a postcard in the mail TODAY requesting any updates to my directory information? A yellow postcard marked "FINAL NOTICE"... guess they mean ONLY NOTICE :-)
Weird though.... the request is to update by phone... no mention of an online option... so I used the link found earlier in this thread and punched in my code.... recognized who I was, so I'm assuming all is well.
It's been a long while since I last signed in to greekchat... I've got lots of reading to do! Hope all is well!
Have missed you all but have been incredibly busy with the chapter... now that formal recruitment is over, I've got a little breathing room.
Will be seeing you....

Mai,
I've been getting those email notices but I put them off until today when I got that yellow postcard too.
I called that 888 number and did everything by phone. The lady I talked to was funny--I didn't know if she was actually trying to make a conversation with me or if she was just trying to put in plugs for the publishing company.
I can't believe I gave in and I ordered the combo. Oh well.

I think its a combo of the paper directory and the CD-ROM. I called yesterday after getting my postcard, and I ordered the softback directory. They tried to talk me into paying the extra $10.00 for a hardback edition, but God forgive me, I refuse to pay $80.00 for a directory!
That darn book is taking clothes off my chihuahua's back.

Since I updated my info online, I haven't been solicited to buy one of these directories.... are they going to be available for sale via the Quarterly or something? or was I supposed to call, so they can talk me into buying the combo, too...
My poor cats are going to starve if I make that phone call... I just know it...
