Right On Regulatah
I would have to agree with you, I personally feel that she's using her pregancy for publicity, as well as her depression and disorders...blah, blah, blah. Don't get me wrong GC, I think all of those things are very serious and people need to speak out about them, but NOW just seems to be such a interesting time for her to reveal all of this.

Part 1 came on tonight. I do not know when Part 2 will air.
At the end she said that she will be around (in the industry) "forever". I think she better let the MAN upstairs make that decision.

I was so mad
How is she going to do her mom like that? She hired a parenting mentor to give her advice on raising a child! Its like she doesn't want her mother to be apart of her child's upbringing. She'll learn because if she didn't have money she would be calling her mom then.

I can see this whole show is gonna be a trip...
1. Baby Mentor?......Yep I had one too, I call her Mom (oh yeah and Grandmom and Aunt So and So)
2. What the heck was she going on and on about room service for? The dang hotel had a fire.
3. The Macy's trip.....whateva.
4. The nursery...I didn't get it (I guess I'm used to the old fashioned themes like "Over the Moon" or Disney characters or Winnie the Pooh
5. I guess what's hers is hers and not theirs. Whenever she mention the house; she said "MY HOUSE".
6. The trip to the store (Pump something) with her mom...shoot my mother wouldn't pay $20 (or whatever outrageous amount it was ) for a bib either.

Ok, is the parenting mentor a new Hollywood thing? I can see if she had a nanny but a PARENTING MENTOR! Her mother needs to knock some sense into her.

I didn't watch it last night....I fell asleep. My baby isn't sleeping through the night yet so I get in all the rest I can.
That is just a trip! A parenting mentor? I didn't know they had such a thing. What ever happened to the extended family? I learned by EXAMPLE ie my Mommy, Daddy, Aunts etc. I'm too through. I have to watch it when it repeats.

The parenting mentor, from what I saw, was a high priced, California, baby coach. My insurance pays for new baby classes, which is what this lady did. How and when to feed, how to decrease nipple confusion, etc. I'm sure that she didn't mean to hurt her mom's feelings.
I'm also not understanding the room service thing, but when you are that pregnant and that hungry, prorities change. hee hee
But the idea of the whole show is cute.

Well, while I'll probably be in the minority here, and I could truly care less about Brandy, I actually enjoyed the show. I was too lazy to change the channel after Real World and ended up watching it. I think Brandy looks healthy, happy and very in love. I loooooooooved the baby's room. It was definitely fit for a little princess. Her husband seems to really love her, her mom is super supportive and she seems to be very excited about becoming a new mom. Now what's wrong with that ?

Ditto!. I kinda watched it by default b/c of the Real World as well. I thought it was fine and didn't care one way or another. She seems to be doing well and I hope everything continues to go well for her. She has millions of dollars for Heaven's sake, how bad could things really get.

soooooooo insurance rates are out of the roof because of *crap* like this? Then, MORE IMPORTANT procedures are not covered because of this?
Heck, if my insurance covers this (which I do not need to look into @ this point and time ), I"ll decline and go to where it will not cost me nor my insurance company one PINK cent. I'll just go to mom, sister, other sisters, aunts, friends, Dr. Spok...lol

AKA2D '91, I'm feeling you completely on that one. I was a little shook when I heard her say that.
I think that the show was interesting. She does look happy and stuff, but I want to see more. It's off the chain to see that people with money will spend it on the most unnecessary things.
Brandy's mother is off the chain! She was killing me with how she was acting in those stores. And did y'all see the previews for the next episode? There was a particular clip where Brandy told her husband to stop feeling her butt!!! She didn't look too happy when she said that and he looked straight STUPID! I can't wait to see the next episode.
ONE MORE THING: Brandy STILL looks anorexic to me. I would like to see more meat on her bones. Because y'all know the camara adds ten to fifteen pounds. So let's think about how little she really is...SCARY!

My new baby classes WERE attended by my mom as well. And they are very basic, but they are designed to make sure new parents have the correct information. I have Kaiser Permanente and they covered EVERYthing related to my pregnancy. Now my mom helped a lot, but she couldnt tell me anything about breastfeeding, b/c she did not do that with me. She didn't know about birthing options (epidural, etc) b/c she didn't go through any of that with me. Brandy probably just wanted the most information she could get, and it wasnt meant as a slight towards her mom. I"m sure her mom will move in when the baby comes, anyway. To each her own.
The Parenting classes were offered thru my entire pregnancy and went over the baby's growth, body changes, what to expect, when to call the doctor, when to come in, yadda, yadda, yadda. They were very informative to both my mother and myself. these type of classes actually DECREASE insurance costs.

I don't have kids, but I have seen plenty of my relatives go to this class and I agree with you on their importance.
Makling sure that a woman knows how to care for her baby in those first weeks is vital, and cuts down on the chances of the child becoming sick due to a lack of proper care.
Even if she is famous, that doesn't mean she doesn't need the help too.

OK, I hate to beat a dead horse, but I am with the majority in this case. I feel that the show is a cute idea, however, it was BORING as HELL!! (excuse the harshness) Ok, so they went around to stores shopping for baby stuff, but Brandy seemed to reject everything her mother picked up. The mother mentor, or whatever she's called, can NEVER take the place of good ole mom. You can see that mom was not convinced about the mother mentor thing either. If looks could kill....
Brandy's husband didn't look like too loving to me. I don't know. Maybe I am used to the more affectionate types or something, but he looked a little more preoccupied than he should have. I mean, Brandy had traveled all the way from Cali. to NY to see him and looked less than thrilled. Maybe it was that he's not used to the cameras or the hype. Maybe I'm reading into it wrong. I'm more than sure that the rerun will air soon (it's MTV). I'll have to check it out again. To me, he looks like a jerk. But then again, Brandy looks like she can get on your LAST nerve.
The funniest part of the show was Draino. He had me CTFU!

Between Draino, the limo driver, and the cutting eye looks, I was LOL, too. I'm anxious to see the 3-d image of the baby though, I wish I could have done that while I was carrying my daughter. Maybe with the next one...
