Hey, nothing interesting like that ever happens to me!
However, something I think is funny, is that once about a year and a half ago, I left one of my DZ shirts in my boyfriend's room when I was visiting him. Apparently it reminded him of me, so he used to wear it around campus all the time...which is brave, really, considering it had a pink butterfly on it and Delta Zeta written in pink letters. Anyway, people used to come up to him all the time and say, "Hey, man, I didn't know you were in a fraternity!"

Poor poor Marty......
This reminded me of what happens all the time to me too, lol. I wear my boyfriends letters to the gym and whatnot and I -always- have at least one old guy come up to me and chuckle, "So honey, are you a Teke?". They end up being alumni from various chapters but we both get a kick out of it,

Oh I wait for the day I see a random jackass wearing my letters.
It's gonna be called "Bottle to the head and his shirt confiscated by someone who earned the right to wear them."
Seriously, if randoms wana use letters to pick up girls, can't he just use letters that aren't taken? Like, Theta Omicron Lambda or SOMETHING.

Angry!!!!
OMG I had to post this! I was in shock!
So I was working at Victoria's Secret today and this woman comes up to the fragrance section and I notice she has on a greek Eastern Kentucky University shirt. She looked rather, and I'm not trying to be mean - but I guess I am anyway, completely undone. The shirt was way to tight and she shouldn't have been wearing it, her hair was very 1980's -BIG- ......I could go on about the poor appearance of this woman, but I won't.
I ask her if she needs help finding anything, then I say "I like your shirt! Were you an Alpha Gam?" (B/c AGD was highlighted). She looked at me puzzled and said "what the hell's an alpha flam?" I said "no no Alpha Gam, Alpha Gamma Delta - its highlighted on your shirt" She looked down and said - "oh, no-what is alpha gamma delta?". "Its' a sorority" I said. "OH -**** no! I don't belong to one of those. This shirts not mine" She seemed rather disgusted, so I asked if it was her sisters. She replied with a no, she had no sisters. I stopped asking questions and politely walked away.
Can you believe that? She was so mad that I asked her if she was in a sorority when , hello she was in a sorority shirt!!!!

I'm not sure CatStarESP4! After that my manager could see that I was in shock and that i could say something I shouldn't say to a customer and took me to the back to steam nighties!
Not sure how you can hate sororities and then wear a sorority shirt.

I went to Eastern Kentucky University..........and i'm not suprised that incident happened hahahaah. I've heard some people refer to the fraternity Theta Chi as "Ox" as in the animal, when seeing their letters.
She probably got the shirt the same place a lot of GDI's get them......goodwill. some people still dont know or arent told/taught to burn, pass down, or cut up their shirts after they no longer want them. One day i was driving through my town and i saw a lil mexican dude walking down the road wearing a Kappa Delta letter shirt.......nothing against Kappa Delta at all, they are a fine sorority, but i couldnt help but to laugh when i saw that.

If we no longer want a certain shirt or any article of clothing with our letters, we should destroy them or give them to our chapters for safe keeping is a very good point I can't stress enough. Just throwing it away or giving them to charity is not an opition. After reading about these GDIs wearing letters that they did absolutely nothing to earn, I find it funny but scary at the same time.

My advise is if you're going to throw out some shirt (or any article of clothing) with your letters, cut them out.
UNFSigmaChi, that's great that you ridiculed this guy in front of his friends! What a f*cking moron!

I cannot even begin to express how I feel about the postings of the homeless woman and y'all making fun of her for wearing letters. For Petes sakes, people, do you mean to tell me you'd rather have a homeless lady not have any clothes than wear your letters?
And you're worried about someone like this giving your GLO a "bad name"?
YOU give YOURSELVES a bad name by being so proud of your GLO that you'd rather throw away a shirt, etc than let someone who truly needs clothes wear it.
If someone really needed clothes, and I had some old SAI shirts, I would let them wear them. Yes, I am VERY proud of my sorority...but there comes a point when you can be TOO proud.
What do your GLOs teach you? I suspect about love, kindness, helping those in need...and yet you go against this by being so selfish that you don't want a HOMELESS lady wearing your letters.
Disgusting!

I think there is a big difference between a homeless person wearing letters and somebody just wandering around the mall who is obviously not homeless. For example, if I saw a homeless woman in Milwaukee at a bus shelter with a Gamma Phi date party shirt on, I'd be pretty confindent she wasn't a Gamma Phi, and so would most other people. However, if I was shopping at the GAP, and saw a girl come in with a Greek Week shirt on with her 'crombie jeans and NBs, I would expect that she (or at least her boyfriend) is Greek. The homeless person isn't purporting to be a member of that organization, but the girl in the mall sure is.

Yes, I agree with that. But I have seen many posts on here where people complained about poor or homeless people wearing their letters...and I think it's tacky to complain about that.
