I use the Mach 3, glad to see I'm not the only woman that uses it
I tried the Venus, but I don't feel like it gets close at all (it did seem to work better w/ shaving cream v. soap for some reason )
I have tried the lotion that is supposed to reduce shaving (made by Jergens), but I have seen no difference and maybe just the opposite - having to shave more...

The Mach 3 is definitely a great razor. Oh by the way, if you have the handle to the venus the mach 3 blades will work. It's way cheaper.

It's called Jergen's Naturally Smooth Shave Minimizing Lotion. I have one friend who swears by it during the summer. Go here for some reviews:

I haven't been able to find it in my market, which really makes me mad b/c I have a coupon from Jergens for a free bottle of something, b/c I bought the Cucumber Cooling Lotion & it made my skin feel gross...I sent them an e-mail about getting a refund and they sent me all these coupons!

Schick Slim twin disposable and whatever body wash I'm using at the time. Works very well.
I always shave while I'm conditioning my hair. So I know that my hair will get at least 2 minutes of conditioning and my leg hair will be nice and ready at the end of my shower.
If you always cut yourself when you switch razors it's probably because your waiting to long to trash the dull ones. When the razor is dull you press harder on your skin. You get used to pressing harder and then don't compensate when you've got a brand new razor sharp razor.

i've been told that you get a closer shave if you don't shave as soon as you get in the shower, but you let the water soften/penetrate the hair folicales (is that a word?)

Seems like someone told me that you shouldn't shave first thing in the morning too because you don't get as close a shave. Something about your legs swell slightly overnight and it takes a few hours for them to get back to their original size. I try to shave at night or in the afternoon and it does seem to be a closer shave than in the morning.

After borrowing my ex's Mach 3 - I have been in love with it! The blades are pretty expensive (like 4 for 6 bucks) - but Im telling you - I hop in the shower, use regular soap - and I have NEVER cut myself. I used to use bic, and those daisy pink razors - and I always cut myself. Mach 3 is *the* best razor out there!

I'm sorry Hootie, but that is the worse thing you can ever do to a man. Luckily I have no sisters, but many of my closest high school buddies did, and they complained ALL the time about their sisters using their razors...I could always tell when it happened to one friend b/c he'd come to school with the little squares of TP still stuck on his face...all because of the dulling of the blade and his sister's leg stubble!!! NOT COOL!!!He finally just gave his sister the razor and got a brand new one because he couldnt' deal with it.

Gillette Mach 3. Yep, the one that's supposed to be for guys only!
I find it better than any other women's razor I've tried.

Well, since I'm going to the drugstore tonight, I think I'll get something new. Maybe I'll try the Mach III since its so highly recommended. I just want a close shave (especially for the wedding I'm in). I cut the hell out of my legs this morning with the Personal Touch razor I have and don't have any desire to go back to the Venus. Thanks to whoever posted that the Mach III blades will go with the Venus handle.
