Phi Sigma Sigma's national philanthropy is the National Kidney Foundation. Locally, we put on an annual Easter Egg Hunt for children in the community. We probably spend at least 10-15 hours a semester on philanthropy.

I just had an idea. Iguess this would be philanthropy. I was reading posts about greek house fires, and the deaths of greeks. Since Gamma Chi is about greek unity why dont we make our philanthropy the Gamma Chi foundation which would help greeks who are suffering. It can be individuals, chapters or there philanthropic events of other groups. What do you think????

Gamma Chi Foundation
I think that is a great idea. what better way to promote greek unity than to help our fellow brothers and sisters in distress.

Philanthropy
Hi, I'm back.
Pi Beta Phi has 3 philanthropies. One is the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, in Gaitlinberg, Tenessee. Our others are Links To Literacy and we have a Canadian Philanthropy called Arrow in the Arctic, which provides culturally relevent books to children in the Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut.
PPL,
Emily

How about the United Way. That way it goes to lots of good groups, since we are supposed to be diverse!!

Alpha Xi Delta's national philantrophy is Choose Children(from national web site):
Alpha Xi Delta's interest in children and their special needs led us to adopt Choose Children, a initiative that emphasizes voluntary service in all areas of child well-being. Choose Children isn't an organization - it's an idea.
Unlike many other Greek organizations, Alpha Xi Delta is not exclusively linked with one philanthropic organization. Alpha Xi Delta gives members the flexibility to look in their communities and decide how they can best benefit children. For some chapters it's sponsoring a football tournament to raise money for a local organization; for others it's spending time tutoring children at an after-school program. Some chapters choose to work with children at a battered women's shelter, while others entertain patients in the pediatric wing of a hospital. No matter what activity a chapter, association or individual chooses, the impact that Alpha Xi Deltas have on children in their communities is unmatched. And the impact children have on Alpha Xi Deltas everywhere is immense!
I personally have completed 50 hours of serive this semester alone.
Xi love,
Sarah
