I used to say Pop or soda since I am from up North, but since I've been in TN I have grown accustomed to saying drink. LOL when I went to Chicago last month, I asked for a something and a drink. The guy was like ma'am we don't serve drinks here. LOL.. I was so outdone.

shani>>My husband is from Texas and his whole family calls soda "sodawater"! I have never heard anybody call it sodawater until I came to Texas. I'm from the North, so I call it just "soda".

Sorry, stepping into your forum here

I am from TX and we call everything Coke. People will say "What kinda Coke do you want?" Then you say "Dr Pepper" or "Sprite" or whatever it is you want. And if there is any kind of can lying around (other than beer) it is generally called a coke can.

Oh, and we sometimes say "soft drink".

In Louisiana - It's not soda or pop. It's "cold drank" or "Coke".... Orange coke, grape coke, etc...........

In my orignal state Wisconsin-- It's pop for the most part.

In Boston I've always heard the term pop used but having lived in New York first I was already used to the term soda.

This is so funny!

I'm from chicago but I go to school in Atlanta...so i'm always getting in to it with people over this topic! I CALL IT POP!! Always have, always will..you cant change my mind. Sometimes soda may slip out but thats a product of my environment. For me its a pop or a beverage.

Too funny...

My fiance is originally from Buffalo, and I am a Texan, so when he first moved to TX he called it pop, and I was like "what?" But now he of course calls it soda...
