Thanks! It's actually Platinum. The pics aren't too great. It's very bright and sparkly...we'll take some more and put them up. It's a .80, huge on my tiny fingers. I love it and stare at it all the time.

What do you do for a living? The answer to this question can affect the metal your diamond is set in.

If you use your hands to do much more than type or write (do you work with children? Do you repair anything? Do you work in a lab?), you might want to consider platinum or titanium, which are stronger and more scratch-resistant. As a librarian, I spend my days with paper, and when I found out that higher grades of gold can be damaged by the acids in paper (especially in older books, which my library has a lot of), I opted for pt instead of white gold.
So true, KappaStarGirl. As a soon to be Nurse-and even now during work and clinicals-I'm constantly pulling on rubber gloves. I had to take into account diamond size b/c the gloves can tear sometimes, and there are just somethings I don't want to get fron my patients.

Yay! When I got engaged in October all I could do was stare at my ring. I was working in a jewelry store (not where we bought my ring but that's a different story), and I didn't even look at the other rings anymore. I was so content and happy...I still am! And a .80 Oval cut...dang girl! I chose an Emerald Cut...I like it because it's uniquely shaped (just like yours).

FYI ~ If you want to keep it sparkling clean at home and don't have jewelry cleaner...simply use a soft bristle toothbrush and some windex and rinse with warm water... that way you can keep it looking the way it did when he proposed!
