On my campus it is a huge rivalry between sororities and fraternities! Fraternities are the worst. The Phi Delts and The Phi Sigs fight all the time... just last weekend they got in a huge fight and ended up breaking a lot of windows and things at some bar. I really think that these boys are setting bad examples. They're supposed to kinda be role models on campus. Yet they're the ones getting into all the trouble. Dont get me wrong, Im not bashing on these boys. Some of them are my good friends! But I think they need to control what they do out in public.

On the other hand, sororities arent as bad. The biggest rivalry is between us (ASA) and the Sigmas. We don't get along at all. and we always seem to compete at everything.

We had some pretty serious rivalries, but mostly between fraternities. The sororities had rivalries, too, but we never resorted to fist fights or broken beer bottles. Pi Phi was a big chapter and they won a lot of things, Alpha Gam, too. We did manage to win HOMECOMING two years ago, though!

Well, Boys and Girls, It is time for the Moronic asswholes who are in Greek Organiztions to realize, that we are Minoritys on each Campus and to
Collectivally Pull Their Heads out!

Do they think it is smart to do this to show how BIG THEY are? This is S^%#T that belongs in High School, Not On College Campuses!

There Is enuff Problems between the School Administartion and the City Fathers and US!

I do not want to say I am a LXA from PSU but there is NO Chapter There any longer!

Self Importance is UNDERWHELMING!

We have been having this battle with the SPE who are across the street and the ADM. called them together and said NO MORE! If So, You Are Gone!

Wow, I will show you I am a member of xyz Org so I will kick your ass! DA!

I wish that everyone of these moronic dick wads that started something like this were kicked out of the respective Orgs and out of School, this would stop!

I would much rather be a member there than on the outside looking in!

The Earp Man Thought for the Day!

Thank You and Have a Very Nice Day!

I'm afraid to say we do have some tension between our fraternaties... the tension between our soroities has finally filtered out. I aswell am from a smaller greek life school 2 sororities, and 3 frats. And they don't get along outside of the greek business side of things. I don't know how we can get this stopped. It hurts us all, and i don't think that they see that.

I could not agree more -- the greek system has enough outside forces working against it, we don't need any inside help!
For example...
We've had a lot of trouble on our campus with a certain fraternity, who has been raiding all of the sororites, taking composites, ect. That is bad enough, but over the weekend they broke into the chapter house and stole our CHARTER! When I came to the house on Sunday for my advisor's meeting with the executive members, I walked into the library and realized that it was gone. I could have cried. Obviously that is something which is absolutely irreplaceable. Maybe I'm just getting too old to see the "fun prank" in this, but I thought it was totally disrespectful and disgusting to take something that is so precious to any chapter. Needless to say, when (I'm still hopeful) we get it back, I will personally make sure that we figure out a way to keep it under lock and key!

Oh my god, I can't believe they took your CHARTER!!!
Of all the disrespectful things to do! I can't even imagine that, although I bet it would happen here if certain groups knew where their rivals' charters were. Wow. Shame on them!

I still can't believe it either...I heard from our president yesterday and our greek advisor, and no one is owning up to it so far, and the charter is still missing. However, we do have an all-Greek advisors meeting on Monday, and we WILL be talking about this...hopefully the fraternity advisors will lean on their chapters and we'll get some answers.
Did I mention that one of our FOUNDER'S daughter's was in our charter class and her name is on the charter????

That is so awful! Best of luck with the whole situation. Some rivalry is good when it makes you work harder and be more competitive, but this is ridiculous. How do we as Greeks expect people to respect us if we don't respect each other first?

That totally sucks that Greeks are that rude to eachother on other campuses. I'm really sorry for that chapter that got their CHARTER stolen as a stupid prank!! I didn't realize that it got that bad in other places. People should really teach IFC and Panhellenic spirit to people going through rush. Maybe that would help?!

Hey Kelly...

Kelly, Im an AXO at UNF and I have to say that at UNF since we have such a small greek system sometimes competition gets a little hot, but in the end we all get along with one another, at least thats how I see it! Hey anyways I just wanted to wish you congrats on Derby Days, you DG's are awesome!

In answer to your question, Silverblue -- Yup, one of the original twelve -- Inez Smith Soule. Her daughter was a charter member, and Inez herself was a charter member of the local alumnae club (Tacoma, now named the Inez Smith Soule Alumnae Club).

Whoa .... I think I'd lead a commando-style raid on that fraternity house until I found it. That's absolutely outrageous. Maybe there's a way you can get the campus police involved. They had to break into the house to get it, right? A little official pressure might be enough to make the charter suddenly reappear.

But how absolutely neat that Inez Smith Soule's daughter was a charter member of your chapter, and that the local alum club is named for Inez herself.

And when you figure out a way to make it 100% secure, please post it on here somewhere!!! The TKE's on our campus are not currently recognized (whether or not I agree with the University's stance is another issue entirely). Last year during homecoming one of our guys fell asleep on the couch and left the front door open. It was around 4AM. When he woke up the next morning, all of our plaques and trophies were gone.

We filed a police report and just waited until about a month ago when one of our guys heard 'through the grapevine' that these guys had the plaques at someone's apartment. A police officer showed up at their door and threatened to file charges unless they were returned in 24 hours. We got our stuff back

This was of course before we got our charter (last weekend!). To lose that little piece of paper would be outright infuriating. I highly recommend you press charges if you find the folks that are guilty of this. Remember, it's not you who's bringing their house down, they're bringing it down on their own.
