Well, I'm just a pledge, and I've only lived at the house for 5 days now...BUT, still from the day I signed I've been proud to be a Beta, and within the last week and a half, I've become very proud to be an Alpha Tau chapter member.
First why I'm proud to be a Beta mainly has to do with the fact that a lot of people that I had a lot of respect for in my hometown turned out to be Betas. I hadn't actually known they were betas until I signed--just the way it happened. But everyone from one of my doctors to one of my best HS friends brothers to my mom's boss, turned out to be Beta's.
And I've really been happy to join the chapter at Nebraska after talking to several of the betas here on GC and they have praised my house as one of beta's best. Also now that I'm here at the house, I've gotten to talk to a bunch of people and am finding out the type of reputation my house has on campus (smart, but regular guys who can have a good time but are responsible about it. Clean house, are real gentlemen, know how to treat girls right. People don't go "Oh..." when they find out youre a beta) Those are definetly things that I strive for, and I'm quite proud to wear my letters around campus. I know that as time goes by and I learn even more and become a bigger part I will be even prouder of my house.
