Girl ,for a while I thought that was the only black make-up. It took forever for us to actually get a MAC store. Fashion fair looked like red clay to me.
I never really wear foundation , but I do dabble in eyeshadow, lip glass and powder. I didn't start with all of that until senior year in High school, then I actually started wearing it often in college.
I always snuck in my mom's REd fashion fair lipstick. She was heated because that was considered an expensive tube of lipstick then. I still feel those butt whuppins

Wow...the first kind of makeup I wore... I can't even remember the name of the cheap brands I used back then!! It probably was the equivalent to Wet & Wild...
Anyway, I remember I first started experimenting w/ makeup when I was in 10th grade. I wore black liquid eyeliner (I have a good, steady hand for applying makeup), colored mascara (electric blue was my favorite color ...SHHHH! don't tell nobody), colored eyeliners (remember when the army fatigue look was in--picture eyeliner that color, among others ) and different shades of lip gloss...I remember my Mom used to say this one shade of lipgloss I used to wear "looked like I smeared isht on my lips"
Ah, the memories...
Thank goodness that phase was VERY short-lived...I moved on up the ladder to wearing more sublte, natural-looking colors that compliment my beautiful face ...Now I am a MAC Diva!!!! Can you say "Addicted"?!

I dabbled briefly in make-up when I was in eighth grade -- foundation, powder, a bit of lipstick.
But junior high school was a horrible time in my life, so I stopped quickly.
I did not resume makeup until I was in college. Oddly, I never used Fashion Fair. I used private-label foundations for a while, then started using Naomi Sims when I lived in Tennessee.
About 11 years ago, however, I began using Prescriptives foundation and still use it. Today, I use powder from Sephora Artist (no color neutral), eyeshadow from Stila, eyeliner from L'Oreal, mascara from Olay, Prescriptives or Clinique blush, Prescriptives lip liner and lipstick from Prescriptives or Club Monaco.

I used to play with my mothers make-up when I was younger. It didn't look too nice so I was turned off from make-up until I was about 16. I began to wear those Cover Girl gloss/lipsticks. I wore those out until I was 17 and for my senior Prom in 1998 I wore powder/lipstick/mascara all from Aveda. I loved Aveda's colors and only wore Aveda until last year when I began to wear MAC. Now I pretty much stick to MAC.

make-up
I have been doing pageants since I was 5 so I wore make-up for all my pageants but I didn't start wearing make-up regularly until I was in high school. I wear make-up every day if I know have to go somewhere but if I'm just hanging out at home then I won't wear any. ZLAM UDZETA

When I was a little girl my mother would kiss me after she put on her lipstick to put some on my lips. It made me feel so grown up! I wore lip gloss in junior high school--the flavored kind that tasted like bubble gum was my favorite! I think I ate it more than I actually wore it! Befor my 11th grade prom my mother let me get a Fashion Fair make-over. I got the works--foundation, blush, eyeshadow, etc. I think I wore it all 2 or 3 times after that night. I still only wear minimum makeup. Most days, nothing or just lipstick and eyeliner. I do wear foundation and eyeshadow sometimes, but I can't remember the last time I wore blush!

I was in about 8th grade when my mom let me wear a little bit of makeup. I was using Clinique blush and flavored lip gloss. Then later on, it was the SAME color of Clinique blush *still is* even though I'm 20 years old now. I also use Clinique lipstick, and Lancome mascara and eyeliner.

LMBO! My mom just about killed me when I got into her Fashion Fair lipstick and her LAVENDER eyeshadow once. She practically scrubbed it off my face!

Prescriptives ROCKS! They're my second favorite department store brand after MAC.
These days I pay less attention to where I buy the makeup than how it applies and whether it breaks me out. Shoot, even Kevyn Aucoin uses drugstore brands now and again! My favorite foundation is still MAC's Studio Fix (NW45), but I also love Clinique's Stay True and Iman's I-Iman liquid foundation. I've been wearing colours by a Canadian based line called Nacara for eyeshadow and blush, but I also have a couple of Black Opal eyeshadows that I return to again and again.
I'm a lipstick hound - one day I counted eight different lipsticks on the bottom of my purse. You'd think I had lips like the back end of a Buick! My favourite lipsticks, believe it or not, are Revlon lipsticks. They cover well, they're not too terribly expensive, and they last fairly well. I also like Interface and some MAC lipsticks too.

I wasn't allowed to wear make-up until I was 15. When my birthday rolled around I wore Posner lipstick in Purple Flame and black or blue eyeliner all through high school.
I now wear Loreal lipsticks, eye shadow, and Volumonous mascara daily. The mascara really makes my eyes "pop". I don't wear foundation or powder at all, although I'm now "researching" colors and brands to use for special occasions.

Cover Girl
I can remember when I was in the 4th grade I would sneak my mothers lip stick out of her purse and put it on. It wasn't so much that I wanted to change my appearance externally, rather, that I wanted to be like my mom and wear the things I saw her applying to herself.
Later on I began a modeling career and had tuns of makeup at my disposal. I guess after being so heavil exposed to it, I began to wear less and less of it in my teenage years. It got to the point that all I needed was my clear lip gloss and mascara.
Now, I wear Bobbi Brown makeup -- I love this line. It is wonderful for all women, especially women of color; including the 'dark- skin' sisters (like myself). I have turned family and friends all on to this makeup line for its fabulous finish and texture. When I wear it, it gives me a 'glow'ing effect. I only wear it when I want a "polished" finish. Otherwise, I just wear the body shimmers with lip gloss (of course, never leave home without it), and mascara.
Makeup of course is only to enhance the natural beauty that we all possess, but we must admit that when applied correclty, it enhances our beauty soooo well!
God bless you all and sorry for the hiatus !

I was only allowed to wear lipstick post 16...took me along time to wear make up thereafter...and now I tend to stick to MAC.
