Unhappy

Those of us who have adopted greatly mourn the passing of Dave Thomas.

PS, "Wheres the beef?" will be remembered.
He was a brother of SigEp, initiated by the Duke University chapter.

There's also a building of the business school here named after him, because he came here a while back to try a diet being pioneered by Duke Hospital and lost a ton of weight. He was apparently so grateful to the university that he donated quite a bit of money and now he has his own building.

Just curious, was he an honorary, or did he actually go to college, pledge and then initiate.....and THEN become famous?

He was honorary. He got his high school degree very recently. I believe that his next door neighbors son is a SigEp and that is how the ball got running.

My TKE Eric is "quasi" related to Dave Thomas. Sort of like 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon related. Every Thanksgiving we go to Ohio and one of the cousins, he's a cousin of his uncles cousins daughter type thing....her dad used to be the CEO of Wendy's and he died of a heart attack last Christmas. Well, then Dave is kind of her godfather, and he dies this year. Creepy. Sad.
