no I haven't, but I've heard that even if you don't know if you've been accepted, letters of rec should be sent anyways.

Is the new university a deferred (winter/spring) recruitment? If you're transferring between semesters and the recruitment is deferred, then yes. Send in the recs ASAP. If the recruitment is next fall, then you still have time to worry about finding/submitting recs.
