Humans have needed to know right now since humanity has existed. Then you have those of us who have first impressions but are capable of accessing more information prior to developing strong opinions or setting our opinions "in stone".
Since we have news outlets that quickly tell us incidents around the globe, would people prefer we go back to the era where we didn't hear about incidents until after someone "in the know" told us or after the media giants were ready to release the information? I promise people would complain if we went back to that era.
