six-party - Black dress pants, black shirt and a grey sweater duster (the duster is kind of shimmery with a fur collar...it's cute but sounds kinda blah!) This day is supposed to be dressy casual.
four-party - Long black skirt and black and grey sweater (the sweater is also kinda shimmery...it has metallic silver threads going through it) This day is more of a business casual day, I was told by a girl in one of the houses that most people wear black skirts.
pref night - Black strapless dress (panhel tells everyone to be formal this day) with a black cardigan (to make it more winter-friendly!)
My roommate may veto all of these, and I'll be at Nordstroms on wed. getting new things!

I don't want to disrupt your plans, but I don't know if I would wear the black and grey combo two days in a row. On the black skirt day, do you have a different top you could wear?

I'm worried about appearing too casual on that day, but I'm considering now wearing a bright red linen shirt with a black cardigan (to tone it down a little). I don't know for sure if the first two days are what I'm going to wear but I do know I'm wearing the black dress for pref. Thanks dzsaigirl!

I'm a big proponent of the black-and-gray combo, for one important (to me) reason: Drinks are served at Rush. COLORED drinks are served at Rush. Advice from an accident-prone slob: Anything you spill on yourself will show up less on black or anything dark and patterned.
Just my $6.02 (drycleaning bill )
Best of luck to you during rush. Although I am sort of prejudiced towards Kappa Kappa Gamma, I hope you find a house that is a good fit, that will make you happy in your college years.

Sounds like me when I went through! I think I had pink frosting on a skirt forever from a DG party I went to!

My advice, don't drink the red punch. It turns the teeth red

Hey Everyone!
Tonight was my orientation meeting and my Rho Chi is sooo nice! My group thinks she's an AChiO. We're probably wrong though, I can't wait for tomorrow when we visit the houses. Tonight was just information about how the process goes and our schedule. I have to meet with my group at 8:30 tomorrow morning and be completely ready to go! I'm so nervous that I won't know what to talk about at these parties and if the girls will like me! I am wearing grey and black tomorrow, so if I do spill it will be ok! I also decided that no matter what, if I don't get invited back to my first choice for four-party I'm going to keep going through rush. Who knows, I may end up with the real house of my dreams! Well I have to head to bed...I have to be up really early to be ready by 8:30!!

Wow, it sounds like you are really excited! We are all behind you 100%. You seem to have a great attitude.
PS: My Rho Chi Group would come out of a party and say "Marti, we saw your legs in a picture...we knew it was you! You're a DG!" or "Ohmygosh, we were wrong, you're a DG, we saw your hair on one of the blurred faces in the slide show, it HAD to be your red hair!"...they were all wrong! None of them had it figured out until after the third day of rush! Muahahahahaaaaaa!!!!!! And they thought that the other PX in my group was AXO but she was a Phi Mu. Just goes to show, you never can tell!

Oh, I am so glad you are going in with an open mind!! I, along with about 30 others, cannot WAIT to hear everything that you experience this week. GOOD LUCK and know that we are always here to listen. Smile--the real fun is just begginning!
