I've already PMed this to Kevin, but for anyone else reading, this account upgrade issue turned out being related to the fact that he's a moderator. A mod account config conflicted with the new GC subscriber config. Should be all sorted out now.

Hi kateee. If you subscribed I'll need a bit of additional info as I cannot seem to find one with your GC account listed as the subscriber. Will send a PM in a moment.

Cool avatar! As an animal lover, I heartily approve.
Question: O' Hare Airport used to use Belgian Tervurens as "drug dogs" to search for drugs. Is this breed commonly known/used for that?

John, it worked. I wanted a picture of my puppy, but it kept saying "upload fail". That's okay, because google images worked fine. Thank you, John.

Chances are that the photo of your puppy is simply too large for the forum or the server to handle. If you decide you want to use that photo, send an email to me at the address specified in this thread (just hiding my email from the spam bots) with your image attached and I'll get it working for you. Also be sure to mention your username in the email. Just another fringe benefit for GC supporting members.

My avatar seems to be appropriate at this time!

Happy that they can be easily changed depending on my mood!

Does it take a while for the account to activate? I did the paypal today, but can't get to the avatar page. I'm not clear on whether there is a manual step in between.

barbino! I have lots of photos and videos of my Belgians and am happy to share with you. Belgians are a wonderful breed, but are not for everyone - they are pretty high maintenance in terms of needing challenges, being trained, having a job to do, and so on. They are "high drive" and not couch potatoes. Yes, they are used for narcotics and explosives work; for all kinds of SAR work; in the military; and so on. The Belgian Malinois are especially liked by law enforcement; they are short-coated, unlike the Tervuren, Groenendael (commonly known as BSD) or Lakenois (the curly coated ones, they are freaking adorable). My two are amazing at tracking and herding, as well as agility and obedience. My male is a speed demon and has beaten some sighthounds at lure coursing.

OK, enough of the swerve. Back to the topic: cheerfulgreek, I got that "upload failed" message too - but my avatar loaded. dbb - I found the avatar on my user control panel page.

Moderator accounts require a slight change in configuration for the upgrade to work. I just took care of that for you so it should be working now.

All right, then, because you pointed out the obvious, I have posted my alter ego as my avatar.
