I do recall a twin! I guess we'll just never know what that "thing" was!

That story was an amazing trainwreck, but entertaining as hell. I, too, still want to know what that "thing" was.

Truth shmooth. If you're going to start a story, you need to finish it! We can get reality somewhere else.

Sigh...I jumped right on this thread, hoping the sequins were on hose.

Yeah, that "thing", too. And the tiny twin.

ETA: I'm sorry, I went off topic.

I do like the top but with a different skirt.

I like the top. Sure, the outfit the way it's shown wouldn't fit, but with a short (but not too short) black skirt, heels and a sparkly bracelet, I think it would be appropriate.

If you have to ask, just don't.

Cute top but way to casual for preference night.

I would go with a LBD like this...

To the OP: Remember this... recruitment should equal classic. Think subdued, classy, and sophisticated. If it says no sequins, then don't go with sequins. This isn't necessarily the time you want your clothes to stand out as different. You want your personality to shine, not your shirt. Because trust me, you will be known as the girl with the sequins shirt, not the girl with the sparkly personality. You want to be the girl with the sparkly personality, not the other way around. I wish you the best-- save the shirt for a great party.

I have more issue with the polka dots than the sequins.

I agree that this is too casual for a cocktail-dress pref type school, and too much for a more casual school.

Now I'm obsessing over the pink squinned pantyhose postings. Or was it rhinestone? Wasn't it in a thread about outrageous PNM behavior or something?

I say save the cute top for a crush dance or some other somewhat informal but fun dance you might have. Go for classic for preference.

Oh, and is "that" thread even still around? I would love to go back and re-read it just for kicks. (and to create the ending for myself)

Here you go!!

Once I remembered that my awesome sister LionTamer was the one that derailed it with her idea of "that thing", finding it was easy peasy lemon squeasy.

^^^I went back and re-read just the closing statement, because that was all I could take. I think the OP has been back in many guises because you just can't alter your core writing "voice" or "style" It's just too difficult. Much as I'd like to write like Dennis Lehane or John Steinbeck or William Shakespeare or Ernest Hemingway or anyone but me, it ain't ever gonna happen.

AAMOF, I bet you could copy a bunch of GCer's posts, delete their names, and we'd be able to identify them: "that's KSUViolet" "that's Gusteau" "that's knight_shadow" "that's MysticCat" "that's 33girl" "that's carnation" etc etc etc. That's how distinctive we all are.
I'm not leaving anyone out, I'm just using those names as examples because they were the first names that came outta my fingers.

Anyway, huge thumbs up to what summer_gphib posted upthread.
