You are mixing terminology. Academic probation and inactive status are not the same thing. You'll more than likely still be required to attend meetings, pay dues, attend Panhellenic events or philanthropic events. From reading this board, most groups require some type of study hours for sisters who don't make their grades, and for my group you don't get to attend social events, but I have never heard of any group that completely kicks you out for a semester.

And another thing - you may be required to attend meetings, but not allowed to vote on anything.

Very true for some groups. I've rarely seen girls on academic probation just disappear, though. The OPs fear seems unfounded. Get to school and take care of your grades.

These were both true for my chapter.

But again, the OP needs to get off these boards and talk to her chapter members.
