I've never taken Chantix, but I've talked with people who have, and their reactions/side-effects are across the board. The most devastating of those reactions was the suicide of a distant relative. It made a lot of people in my family take a closer look at their smoking-cessation aids.
Dee (and others using/considering the e-cigs), please read up on the dangers of e-cigarettes. I'd share a link if I had more time. I've read quite a few disturbing things about electronic smokes. Most worrisome (to me) was the fact that there wasn't any kind of governmental regulation on what's used in the cartridges. You really don't know what you're smoking. I will say, however, that I read up on these things a few years ago, so my opinion is based on relatively-dated information.
Fortunately, I was incredibly sickened by cigarettes (smoking them, smelling them) when I got pregnant, so quitting smoking was significantly easier because of that. I realize this isn't the ideal solution for most, though.
