Who says the chapter at the other school would pick you anyway?

Ideas like yours ruined transferring for legitimate sorority sisters everywhere. This practice is not new, but sororities figured it out a LONG time ago and fixed the problem by making chapters vote to accept transfers into their chapters to prevent this kind of activity. If they cut you through recruitment, you can't force your way into their chapter through the back door. Stay at USC and do it the right way.

^^^ THIS.

We are not members of Alpha Phi and have no knowledge whatsoever of the criteria used in membership selection for any chapter other than our own.

Good luck to Alpha Phi at FSU!

And don't even start with expansion talk, please.

Just a note: Expansion is not the solution for an unsuccessful recruitment.

USC just expanded 2-3 years ago, and most women who participate in formal recruitment are placed.

A few women not getting bids does not = a need for expansion.

Y'all...this is what happens when you hire Tiger Woods as your recruitment coach. If she would have gone with Alexandra Robbins, she would have saved herself a lot of heartache.

Oh- this one's special. Not just a back door transfer, but hoping that the sororities will rearrange their rush and bidding schedules to ensure her classes are not interrupted and that she does not miss out on a precious semester as an active in the "right" chapter at the "right" school.

I thought I had seen it all, but this is a new chapter in a long and interesting book.

I went to USC, graduated recently and am pretty familiar with campus culture.

1) It's competitive, but the overwhelming majority of PNMs will get a bid to A sorority if they stay with it.
2) There are at least two chapters that are currently COBing right now. As we speak.
3) I actually know women who tried to transfer into their respective chapters after joining at another school and were voted not to affiliate. At least one of these was at a chapter that is not considered "top tier". So no, it's not an in.

This is honestly the dumbest thread/idea I've ever seen.
