the first house was

MAC- these girls were really cute and friendly. I was double rushed and bumped 4 times. I didnt really feel like i connected with the girls except 2 of them. Even so i was still kinda iffy.

Lancome- i was really excited to be in this house b/c i knew a few girls. I really got along with the girls and even one of the girls came up and said hi. Only downside was that the house smelt so bad. (it was owned by one of the fraternity)

NIX- the next house was one i was really looking forward to b/c i heard so many nice things abt the girls from my greek friends. I LOVED their door chant and the girl i talked to was really sweet. I felt so bad b/ the house was so loud and i couldnt hear what she would say and i had to keep asking her to repeat herself.

Bobbie brown- wow their house was amazing and their chant gets stuck in your head so easily! i didnt expect myself to fit in with them b/c they looked so put together. Turns out i had the best conversation with the two girls i talked to and when i left both of them hugged me goodbye.

Clinique- their chant was the easiest to remember but i was soooooo turned off by this sorority. The girl that rushed me was really awkward. She frowned every time i talked and when i finished she would smile. She didnt ask me anything abt me and i felt like i was the rusher asking questions when it got quiet. She made no effort to make me feel at home or welcomed and i couldnt wait to leave this house.

Laura Mercier- i also knew a few girls in here and i memorized their cheer easily!I was double rushed her and i met 3 different girls. The first girl made me feel really left out and i tried to join in but i immediately get cut off. The last two girls were REALLY sweet. At first i wasnt sure if id like this house but it was slowly winning me over.

Chanel- this chant was so cute! i saw their house mom and she was adorable. I was also double rushed here and bumped twice. I talked to two girls and the first one was really outgoing and nice the second girl was kinda rude b/c we left off at talking abt favorite movies/harry potter and she was like "what the heck? that SO WEIRD" so i was kinda turned off.

Revlon- i dont even really remember much here. The girl talked the whole time and i couldnt even fit a word in.

NARS- the girl that rushed me made me feel uncomfortable and she would stop me mid sentence and complete me. She did this abt 5 time. Also she went on a good 5 minute rant on parties and asked if i go out alot.

Stila- i knew a few girls in this house and i talked to two girls. We got along really well and i even attended on of their events last year so it was easy conversation.

ill update more later. im really hungry from today.
Does anyone else find that awkward??? I was told not to touch any PNM unless they initiated it.

I'm rushing at UCF right now too, and the only times I've been touched by a rusher have been when they were leading me to a place to sit or while they were shaking my hand.

For you, too

I've enjoyed reading the UCF GC posts over the last few years, especially when they lead me to new sisters... (Hi UCFLove!)

Remember to have fun and relax as much as you can in the heat and humidity. I'm sure you'll find the perfect activities to fit your personality, whether as part of the UCF Greek community or not....

I was independent until my senior year (by choice, as I declined a bid my freshman year during formal recruitment). I became a colony member during my last semester at UCF, and proceeded to become a very active alumna over the last 15 years. During my first 3 years, I was Homecoming Assistant Director of Events, and an active member of CAB. I met SOOOOOO many people that by the time I joined the Fraternity, I was already well-established on campus.

The point is, UCF has so much to offer and Greek life is not the only way to achieve "social success."

Best of luck to you and all UCF PNMs!
