As for ree-Xi, Knight Shadow, tld221 and KSUViolet06:

Forgive me please for trying to find opinions on a forum, I'll make sure never to do this again. This being said, I was trying to do just that: find opinions. ....

.....Laughing Stalk = stupid mistake. I'm happy to take the ridicule for that one =)....

Gosh I just wouldn't know what to do with myself if it weren't for such helpful responses.
We can't give you opinions because they likely wouldn't be correct assertions of what MIGHT happen. We don't know the school, aren't members in the chapters, and don't know YOU. Whatever someone might say is conjecture. Do you really want to take something that a stranger with no solid info as advice?

WE. DON'T. KNOW.

As for "laughing stalk", I made a joke out of it. It was funny and made me laugh. You really need a thicker skin if you are putting yourself out there.

People that react this way to OPINIONS make me wonder why I bother helping at all. I gave you general advice because it is a general question. Next time, I'll think twice before offering practical advice. You obviously don't want it.

I was not being facetious about the "laughing stalk" bit, I laughed at myself as well.

I understand that you can not predict the future, especially if you don't have much information. I will try to reword this once again: I'm trying to get other people's first reactions to my reasons for not rushing initially, does it give off the impression that I just don't care?

No, I will not let anything on this forum sway my decision to rush or not, but a few helpful tips would be nice. And the heads up that I need to explain my "delay in becoming a PNM" in a different way, in order to put it in a better light, would be nice. I'd rather make the mistakes on a forum than during rush week.

And I am merely annoyed that I am told over and over again to read the other threads when it has already happened...

We really can't say how someone else is going to react to you not rushing until junior year.

If you go to a school where alot of students go Greek and recruitment is competitive, it might raise an eyebrow that you waited so long.

At others, it's no big deal. As far as tips and advice for recruitment, this thread has tips and advice for days. Happy reading:

The sarcasm and entitlement issues aren't helping your cause. You're asking for information from other people, then getting bitchy when it's not what you want.

What part of WE DON'T KNOW don't you understand? If I had a crystal ball, I'd be using it to predict winning lottery numbers instead of your chances of getting into a sorority.

There are plenty of helpful tips out there, and that have already been given. If you don't like what you were told, well, that's your problem.

What is in the water lately?

It's like:

PNM: Question
GCer: previous threads or polite answer
PNM: OMGWTFBBQ

Do you want more specific predictions? Post your school, GPA, activities/resume, name, list of friends that we can ask about you, picture (close up and full length), etc. Maybe we could give you a better answer then. Otherwise, you gave us absolutely zilch to go on, so how can anyone predict?

And last time I checked, GC wasn't here to provide a service in predicting potential success/failure of potential new members.

Wow, I really didn't see this thread crashing and burning like this.

My only comment- if you really had read the 90+ threads that are out there about juniors rushing (and every variation on that situation), you would have known the responses you were going to get. I knew before I even opened the thread.

Stop acting all offended and victimized, take the [predictable] advice you were given, and take the crazy train home.

oy vey! I'm not telling you where or where not to post, my point is that I keep trying to tell you people the same things, and all anyone seems to be able to say is "I DON'T KNOW" or "read other threads".

1) I know you don't know, if you will please read, I'm not asking you to make a prediction.

2) I have already read the other similar threads, they weren't helpful.

3) I'm only giving back the vitriol that I'm receiving.

ORLY? The quote below is not a asking for a prediction?

I think you have your answer. You ask the same things (see your quote above) and receive the same appropriate reply.

Best of luck with your future endeavors.

wide-eyed: I'm so sorry that you aren't getting what it is that you want from the fine members of GC, all of whom hold membership in a number of GLOs. Then again, I'm not sure I know what it is that you want, because I'm now quite confused after reading all your posts.

TrueStar: I'm predicting that your recruitment is going to go well, regardless of your class standing. Let us know, 'k?

Holy Jesus. This is going to be my last post on this thread only because it's clearly deteriorated into a bashfest, for no reason. I'm not even offended, I just can't figure out why it's so hard for so many people to understand.

Here are a few examples of some responses I was expecting:

"I go to blank university and only knew of two juniors who received bids, so it's not impossible but it will be very difficult."

"It depends on the school but I think, the fact that you chose other activities before rushing for two previous years, is a negative aspect."

"I think being involved around campus will be to your benefit."

"I think you need to read the other similar threads." (To which I would have responded the same way I have been: "I already have.")

"It's always an advantage to be a freshman with a high GPA."

"You're hopeless, if you still don't know what to expect."

"what school/ how competitive are you talking about? Is your GPA high?"etc........

I certainly wasn't hoping for rainbows, but I was crossing my fingers for people to respond AFTER reading the OP.

Alas, you win, I give up.

Ok I'll bite. What school do you go to?
