1. Lose 10-15 pounds, which losing weight has never been on my resolution list, but this year I gained about 10 pounds because I graduated, thus no more intramural sports lol!

2. Get my boyfriend to put a ring on it and start planning a wedding already! (We've been together for 4 yrs, 8 mos so this is conceivable)

3. Get a real job.

Silly things, yes, but I could actually succeed this year!
I LOVE your resolutions! Maybe I should come up with one serious resolution and one that's more fun. I (surprisingly) haven't gained any weight during the holidays, but I've still gained a lot in the past year or so. Sooo I'll make a goal to lose some number of pounds.

What should my fun one be??

1.) Make my classroom a bully-free zone - there has been too much in the way of subtle bullying, and I'm determined to put a stop to it. I want every one of my students to feel valued, safe, and able to learn.

2.) Get healthier - maybe lose weight, maybe not, but I am going to make working out a priority, and watch what I eat.

I decided last year (not as a New Year's Resolution, because I don't really make those) that I was going get healthier by working out and watching what I eat and I lost 50 pounds in the process. Losing weight wasn't the goal, but it was a great side effect! Since I started grad school in September, working out fell of the "to do" list. I want to get back to it. I felt a lot better when I was doing it. I attained a lot of goals in 2009, including starting grad school.

My hopes for this year (not really resolutions) are that my ex-husband finds a job (locally!), that grad school keeps going well and that I make time to work out in spite of grad school. This next term's class doesn't seem nearly as demanding as last term, so I think I'll be able to pull it off. I don't think I can hit the 4 cardio a week and 3 weight training a week that I was doing before I went back to school, but if I can do 2 cardio and 3 weight training, I'll be happy. I get more self satisfaction and energy from the weight training. I do the cardio because I should. I'm starting this weekend with the workouts.

This year should also be the year that my daughter gets her driver's license, which will free up an amazing amount of time for me.

You should get her a AAA membership for her 16th birthday, they are extremely useful and my parents always felt better knowing that if I had a problem AAA was on the way by the time I called and said "uh...yeah there's a problem with the car."

To all of those talking about losing weight, working out, eating healthier, etc., one of my absolute favorite things in the world is Women's Health magazine. My brothers and dad always read Men's Health, and recently I've been picking up Women's Health. The magazine is STOCKED with nutrition tips, cardio/weight/yoga workouts, healthy recipes, etc. They even have a great iPhone yoga workout app. I don't use it for beauty and style, although there is a little of that, simply because fashion magazines do that coverage better. But if you want fun yet challenging workouts and nutritional advice, it is the best. I feel like it pumps me up to get healthier just because there is a lot of good advice that gets you in the mood to get in shape.

1. Lose weight/get healthy.
2. Start to actually DATE, and not be afraid of it (that's a big thing for an introvert like me)
3. Move out & get my own place.

But still teach her some basic stuff! My dad told me on my 17th birthday (that's when we get licenses, here) when I asked about getting jumper cables and stuff "You're a girl, just call me or AAA" and never taught me anything about cars. I have, to this day, no idea how to change a tire or where basically anything in my car is, and only two weeks ago did I learn to use jumper cables - when a male friend of mine had to jump my car!

That's got to be one of my resolutions this year - learn a little bit more. I have 24 hr. roadside assistance through my insurance, but still - knowing how to do the little things myself would make me a little more comfortable driving alone.

So my resolutions this year:
1)Learn at least one new car-maintenance thing.
2)Start eating more/better - while I don't need to gain weight, if I don't stop being so picky and so anal-retentive about what I eat I will soon.
3)This resolution is shared with my boyfriend = to put at least $25 from each of our paychecks into a savings account to start building ourselves a nest egg.
4) Become a wish granter for the Make-a-Wish foundation.

When I had just graduated, a local vocational school had a once-weekly Basic Auto Maintenance for Women class. It was the best $50 I have ever spent. Three of my friends an I took this -- it was once weekly and ran for 6 weeks.

I'm just making a couple small ones this year, things that are actually reasonable...
1) Lower my stress/anxiety level.
2) Successfully complete a Project365. I'm excited for this one!! I think it will be neat to be able to look back on later.

I hope to be able to look at this thread in one year and say that both objectives were completed!

I turn 20 this year- which isn't huge in the grand scheme of things. But I really believe that this is the year where my adult life begins. Yeah, I've got 2 more years of college, but... I don't know. I just think this is going to be a big year in a lot of ways.

So my resolutions-

My Resolutions
1. Make a new resolution each month- it's said it takes 21 times for something to become a habit. That's a month- so I want to make some new (good) habits this year!
2. Make use of a calendar! My head just can't hold it all anymore.
3. Start blogging through a Project365- I just discovered this through TPA85's post, and it is the coolest thing ever. I've been looking for a way to start blogging, and I think that will be a good way to get me started.

January's goal- To start watching my portions and running again

January's resolution- Start watching my food and get to the gym

Ooooh we have one here. They really are fun, you'll love having one.

1. I'm going to lay the man drama to rest (at least with this one man).
2. Get into better shape. I was in GREAT shape and I let it go. I'm getting back to my old routine.
3. Enter the adult spelling bee in Long Beach. I've wanted to win a spelling bee my entire life and only ever placed 6th in the county...now that I've found one for adults, I'm going for it!

I stopped doing resolutions last year. I used to go all out, make a list, blog about it etc. And realize that I only reached them out of necessity.

But there is one thing I'd like to start-i want to embrace the adage "get a hobby." Like a real hobby, one that has a set up community, activities, etc. There are lots of things I like but I'm very surface about them. Some ideas:

-comedy (join an improv troupe)
-writing (getting serious about blogging)
-cooking (my sister just finished culinary school and I'm hooked to watching food network)
-something artsy (I used to draw and paint way back when)

I need to be on my way to meeting my future Mr. (Or Ms., who knows) I hope this helps me get on that path.
