I was born in another country and I think it was somewhat of an advantage, being from another country, having an accent, it was a great conversation starter and girls remembered me that way. We had girls from South Africa, England, Jamaica, and Mexico so it was pretty cool. On a side note, we were all full time student's and not doing study abroad from another country. I am not sure what the rules are with someone who is doing study abroad because I woud think the chapter would want the sister there for as much time as possible and not just a semester.

One of the sororities at my school recently accepted a girl from China who (at the time of Fall Recruitment) had only been in this country for about six weeks. She said that most of her English was learned from TV. (Which just goes to show that having an amazing personality really does count for a lot.)
