So it was the theme for both conventions because Soror Louise A. Rice was president going into both conventions and it was the theme that the National Board had under her leadership?

Ms vs. Soror

I thought Soror was correct, but I've been dealing with so many different Fraternity and Sorority cultural traditions in the last couple of days, I'm lucky I don't confuse Sigmas with Skeptrons. Sorry.

My bad, she's actually Dr. Rice.

Soror (and Frater) would be appropriate at an NPHC function, between NPHC members.

OK

So it would only be appropriate for a Delta Sigma Theta Sister to refer to her as Soror Louise A. Rice, I guess. Though my guess is that in ZPBS, that those terms cross between the two groups.

WHY IS THIS THREAD STILL GOING?!

Please learn about the organizations before you come at these GLO forums because calling my former National President "soror" is rather offensive! You are NOT my soror!

LOL...wow. Anyway, I'm inclined to agree with mccoyred and ladygreek.

"One Mission, One Sisterhood: Empowering Communities Through Committed Service" was the biennial theme, the theme for the 2006-2008. What is unclear is whether this theme was extended as the themes for both Conventions.

The only specific theme I see for the Philadelphia Convention was during the literary events and that was "A Healthy Mind, Body, and Spirit." I haven't been able to find another theme for the Orlando Convention.

Coincidentally, my Delta Journals list the themes for the recent Delta Days and Symposiums so I was sure it would also detail the themes for the most recent Conventions, if they differed from the "One Mission...." theme.

NO but I was (and sometimes still am), depending on who you ask.

I think 5knowledge1913 did what a lot of people do when they don't know an answer.

I had my moments, I'm so sure, but I hope I was never so rash as to tell someone to seek answers from a book written before the conventions in question even happened.

Sometimes it is better to just not hit the POST REPLY button at all.

And now I must go sit in training for 8 hours.

I'm sad that we're all awake.

This thread inspired me to crack open my history book, only to discover that our convention themes are not listed in the index.

They *might* be in the Centennial Book of Essays and Letters, but for some reason (the lack of an index?) I'm not inspired to whip out an 800 page encyclopedia of Alpher hist'ry. Not right now, at least.
