How would any of that lead a salesperson to disagree with what I said?

You said in the comic world it isn't that big of a deal...most who sell ARE into comics so it would be a BIG deal to them
And despite the 'comic toursists" passing thru today...like SPidey or hate him, there were a lot of disappointed comic readers who didn't get their hands on it...as a matter of fact, the reason WHY they were in short supply was that anyone worth his salt with a susbscription had pre ordered the books and the pre orders had to be filled first before the rest of those books could be sold.

Because..."there has never been a comic by a major comic company in recent history dedicated to a president, but at the same time we are talking about Barack Obama also" and "the fact that it is in limited print increases demand."

Speaking of the Death of Superman:
Comic book dealers say they haven’t seen this much excitement since Superman was killed in 1992.

This made me chuckle.
The plot involves a pesky imposter at Obama’s historic inauguration.
In the Spiderman/Obama story, after Spidey saves the day, the real Obama gives him a fist bump.

Yup very good one too...I would have thought the Death of Capt. America or the WTC Spiderman would have been considered as comparable big sellers.
On the other hand...so many people who wanted this book were 'comic tourists' as well as traditional collectors.
Now what will be really cool is to be able to get that comic autographed by the artists and / or writer of that comic like some did yesterday.
Thankfully tho, this comic won't break the comic industry the same way that Superman may have done in the 90's.

Yeah but it wasn't just Superman dieing that killed comic books. Him coming back as four different people, even the mullet-corpse, was just too much.
Also, Marvel screwed up too by having spider-man be just a clone of the real peter parker, who was still in a lab, and then broke out.
And the X-Men got all inbred with each other.

Euuhh...yeah...thanks for reminding me,
Oh trust me, I agree that Superman wasn't the only thing that nearly killed comics in the 90s.
It was a rather big nail not to mention that there were so many other factors and so many gimmicks that the companies tried also.
I think and I know I am not 100% right, one thing that is partially saving the industry now is the plethora of comic movies that have been released in the past few years especially since now producers have finally been able to use CGI to really tell their stories...
BTW...stay away from The Spirit.

I understand but I disagree.
Hopefully comic companies remeber the perils of oversaturation.

I really wanted the "Last Son of Krypton" to be the real Superman.
