I did a little bit of footwork and from what one of my tech buddies tells me is pretty much the same thing I told you.
LG stopped supporting some of their products a while back and only intermittently put out ptaches for them but not enough to cover each and every movie.
I did ask him however if that particular player allow for upconversion of
standard dvds and he says yes and no....meaning this...it upcoverts up to 1080i so if you decide to get the BoB standard edition and run it though, it should come out pretty good but not as crispy as the Blu ray
lastly, on this link are the last known firmware updates for your unit

and because BoB came out AFTER that last update, then yes, it's a possibility the player is not quiet up to par to run that movie...
