Education wise I'm just as qualified. Oh wait, more so because of a BA and a BS from the same University? I've done my research in Alaska as well, so I know plenty about how things work there. Though I haven't been mayor or governor, a hockey mom or a PTA president, I have been an adviser to a Greek org., coordinated blood drives, worked on numerous Habitat for Humanity Builds, represented youth in my church at a nationwide level, and I was in Girl Scouts as well as a camp counselor. I'm also president of the local Junior Circle and served in numerous student government positions, and will likely be chairing the board of my family foundation in the next years.

I forgot to add, I've also had a passport for 15 years, and I've left the country numerous times. Given the opportunity I'd shoot an animal from a helicopter too

i have to disagree with Scandia as well....qualified can mean SO much. like Daemon said, most of us are "qualified" to run as VP. hell, the green party has a hip-hop activist running for VP, so that doesnt bode well for Palin, does it?

I'm interested in reading all the talk and perspectives about Romney. I don't know how well he would be doing in this race, but it always seemed to me that he might have had some major problems with some independents and with evangelical segments of the GOP base. The thing with Palin is that she's not stupid and/or completely void of the ability to learn, but right now she isn't knowledgeable. If she were to prove herself over the next four years, step up, and make a big impact on politics (which I believe she is capable of doing), then I would be completely comfortable voting for McCain (or another Republican politician) with her by their side. I did still vote for McCain in this election, but I wasn't thrilled about checking off his name. But I wasn't thrilled with the alternative, either.

To be honest, this is the way Palin moved up the chain in Alaska. She learned from the best, and then she defeated the best. I'm not surprised she found herself in the position that she's in. But I think it was too soon for her to make such a big jump.

I can certainly see Palin's charisma. I think maybe what's in the eye of the beholder is whether her charisma (or that of another candidate) is attractive or off-putting.
