I wear mine onlt to fraternity events that are for business type dress. Can't wear my pin in the real world becasue you could offend other greeks or people that just hate greeks.

We can wear our badge almost anytime we want, as long as we have badge attire on. Most of us only wear it to formal events though. We never wear our badges to the bars or anywhere wear it would not be proper. I have worn my badge to colonizations of other fraternities on campus, not to offend, but to show support to a newcomer in our Greek system.

We can wear our badge/insignia anytime as long as we are dressed properly (business/Sunday wear as is most people's rule).

Unfortunately, I can't wear mine now I lost it a few weeks ago, just before formal recruitment started. I wore it to work (as I always do when something is going on with the chapter) and lost it somewhere between here and campus. I have checked everywhere and even sent out an allusers email to have others look for it. No luck Guess I'll buy a new one from HQ. We can order old ones, but I want one with my initials on it like before. So if you guys see an AXO badge on ebay, please let me know!!

Alpha Phi Omega's pin, offically known as "The Emblem of Campus Service", is appropriate for wear at any time. It's great to wear on campus because students and faculty alike recognize and respect the activities for which it stands. Personally, I wear my pin exclusively during:

Founder's Day (December 16)
Chapter Founding Anniversary (January 27)
Service projects
Whenever I'm "dressed up" (shirt and tie)

I wear my badge as often as possible. Since I have graduated I have gotten it put on a pendant so it fits a slide necklace.

It is in white gold with peals and emerald points so it matches a lot! And since I dress up for the office I can wear it often.

Since KD has lost at least 2 members since 9-11-01, I wear my pin to church every Sunday because my church has a service for the victims still.

Our Founders Day is 10-23-1897 so I will most difinitely wear it then as well.

Talking

I just had to share this sweet article that was in the Summmer 2001 Alpha Gamma Delta Quarterly..

"Some months ago, I wrote to Julie Waiteman Cretin to replace a Fraternity pin for my mother in law...The pin had been torn from her dress some 75 years ago and she was not able to recover it. Ms. Cretin was kind enough to replace it with a Fraternity pin that had belonged to a class sister (that she was able to recall, though she didn't know her well).

I thank the Fraternity for the most generous gesture, and wish to inform you that the pin was presented to her on her 99th birthday on November 5, 2000. I wish I could adequately describe the overwhelming survise and joy upon receiving the pin. Since her birthday, she has NEVER LEFT THE HOUSE WITHOUT HER PIN!!"

That is sooooo special!

I used to wear my Badge to work when I first started and was in pin attire. A few times it opened up the lines of communication between customers. I even met a few Chi Omegas that way too!
