I started noticing when I began taking martial arts. I thought it was just that I was not getting enough support during exercise. But then when I moved out and began working full-time, I noticed that I would get more lower back pain and discomfort. I compared sports bras vs. regular bras: bingo.

I used to be bigger in HS. Though I lost weight, I still remained pretty chesty. May not seem humongous- but nobody in the family saw it coming because I had a late puberty. So they do tease me about them.

Most regular bras just do not give me enough support. Underwires and thin straps do bug me. I do look like I have a uniboob with t-back sports bras, but with the ones from Sears that hook on the back I look normal.

I third the Wacoal suggestion. I think they run more expensive than Vicky's bras, but can't be sure. My mom and I swear by them!

I like Goddess bras. They go up to J cups in some styles.

Also, Lane Bryant now makes their bras in sizes up to H cups. You can't find the sizes over DDD in the stores (at least I haven't been able to!) but you can order them online.

Lane Bryant bras don't last at all for me! I wear them for a month and they look like shit already

I have bra issues because, like some of the other posters, I'm quite chesty. I like VS bras because they are pretty, but recently discovered a Playtex/Hanes/Bali/L'eggs outlet in my hometown that has a fabulous bra selection. And it's an outlet, so they'll have discontinued styles and really good deals.

I absolutely hate thick straps and bras that have three vertical rungs down the back closure. I refuse to wear them. So I'm somewhat limited in my selections because I have a small frame and a large chest. Why can't they make cute bras in larger sizes?

I know this thread is for non-VS bras, but try the Angels Secret Embrace Bra from VS. There really is nothing quite like it.

I have already decided that all the bra makers got together and said that if you design a D or bigger, it doesn't need to be fancy because you don't need to decorate ones that big for them to be appealing to guys.

I'm petite and big chested! Oh what a world, what a world...

I think we should all band together and create a new brand of bra.

Definitely, it's teh conspiracy!

Vanity Fair does make a few nice ones... sometimes... and occasionally they don't look like they're from the hardware department!

I don't know how "large" of a size you're looking for, but Wacoal is amazing for unusual sizes. I wear a 34D and they always have lots of decently pretty and supportive bras.

I gave up on cuteness a long time ago.

However, I do not like regular bras that look like they are to be worn only by really prissy and uptight women.

Sports bras are all about function while still looking cool. My style is more Artemis than Aphrodite anyway The back closure ones I own have thick straps, a thick band, and just 2 rows of hooks in the back. I buy them 36D rather than 36C because I prefer the way they fit (more like my other sports bras instead of a regular bra)- but in most other brands I'm certainly 36C, since that is my objective size using the measurement test.
