My bio sister's cake had cheesecake in it. Each tier was 2 layers, the bottom layer was white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and the top layer was pound cake with raspberry jelly (or whatever it is) in the middle - very yummy.
Mine was just your regular 3 tier almond pound cake with buttercream, but still very pretty and tastey

My (biological) sister had a cheesecake. My brother-in-law doesn't like cake. It was a big square cheesecake, covered in fresh strawberries with a smaller square elevated in the middle with a mound of stawberries on top.
They didn't do a traditional cake cutting, it was just cut up and served at the end of dinner as the dessert. (but it did sit in the middle of the room during dinner). My sister said that the biggest problem was that cheesecake can't sit out under the lights as long as regular cake- hence them serving it for dessert.

I went to a wedding last May where the groom's cake was an ice cream cake. In case anyone was considering this, I'm warning you it is very messy. The poor girl assigned to cut that cake was having a hard time, so I stepped in and basically just started to scoop "pieces" onto plates with two forks. Maybe if it would work if it comes directly from the freezer, but I still don't recommend it.

Here's our cake:
I'm trying to find a picture of our groom's cake - it looked like the Home Depot Tony Stewart NASCAR. Haha =)

Here's my cake (plus me and Mr. TNPhiMu)! It was almond with buttercream from Sweet & Sassy in Nashville... best.cake.EVER. His was strawberry with chocolate (pretty traditional) but also AMAZINGLY yummy (but I don't have a picture of his here at work).

Thanks Honey! I absolutely LOVED my dress... and the cake. I so wish I could wear the dress around everytime I have a bad day. But, with the cost of preserving and boxing that baby, I think I'll keep it wrapped up!

^^ That's so cute! I wouldn't know how to cut it either. Maybe just cut off a corner? Lol.

Here's ours (from 4.5 years ago):
Each layer was something different. I think we had white with white filling, lemon with white filling, white with raspberry filling and lemon with raspberry filling. We had a local gal who did cakes out of her home, so it's not quite as "professional" looking as some, but it was so tasty! I wasn't the happiest with how big the cake topper turned out, but like anyone really cares about that anyway.
Grooms cake:
OMG, this was the yummiest thing ever. It was some rich chocolate cake with chocolate kaluha filling and chocolate ganache frosting. I barely got a tiny piece and poor hub didn't get any. We let the cake lady decorate it however she wanted, so it doesn't quite match the other cake, but again, like anyone noticed or cared.
