Always
Alpha Delta Pi is a sisterhood,
You can trust in it always,
You can have it for a lifetime,
You can have it always.

Always, Always
You can trust in it always,
Always, Always,
You can have it always.

**Then, the round!**
Half the sisters sing the first part, while the other half sings the second part, and then they switch!

My chapter usually sang the round twice (so each group would essentially sing each part once), and then finish singing the song together by repeating the Always, Always part.

Next?
I love that song! We never sing it at Beta Tau-- but when my best friend transferred from Epsilon Nu she taught it to us!

I love this thread!!

Pass it on and Linger were some of my favorite songs. There was another song I liked that went something like:

Pi Pi ADPi
Like it love it ADPi...

and I can't remember the rest of the words. If anyone knows the rest and can post them it would be great.

Also in my chapter (Eta Beta) we would have Alpha class songs. Each Alpha class would pick a popular song and change the words to fit ADPi. Then they would debut it at Black Diamond Ball for the Delta sisters and sing it again every year at the retreat for the new alphas. It was so much fun! My class (1994) chose 'Two Princes' by the Spin Doctors. Do any other chapters do this?

Pi, Pi, ADPi!
Like it! Love it!
ADPi!
Want it, need it, gotta repeat it!
I just love my ADPi!

When I was a-growing high
Always wanted ADPi!
Even then I always knew
I'd want to wear the White and Blue!

Pi, Pi, ADPi!
Like it! Love it!
ADPi!
Want it, need it, gotta repeat it!
I just love my ADPi!

~~~~~~~~~~~
White shining stars, upon my Diamond pin
Symbols of the friendship that is held within.
Loyal and true, I pledge my heart to you
Alpha Delts forever, wearing White and Blue.
(Sung in rounds)
Yes - at least, we used to do so! We had a sister who had been on Homecoming Court that year and LOVED Todd Rundgren, so we did our song to "Hello, It's Me" as a tribute (silly girls!!).
My chapter too would do a lot of rewording of pop songs...
As for my favorite song... Umm...
For fun songs I always think of Boom Boom... but that is because when I first joined we sang it a whole lot... at the end of every meeting we would sing... and they would usually ask what people wanted to sing... since there were a bunch of new alphas at the time who were very loud (myself, my roomie, etc) we would always say to sing Boom Boom, because it is the only song we knew...
On the more serious side, other then the ones already mentioned i love white shinning stars...
My chapter, to end Pi, Pi, would spell out:
A-L-P-H-A
D-E-L-T-A
P-I Pi Oh My
Alpha Delta Pi (Whoo!)
And also, with White Shining Stars, our third line would be sung:
Loyal and true, we pledge our love to you
All the little things
I can't exactly explain the tune of Always....can you, Andrea???
We sang this, too, but as a separate song. Did y'all have "strings" of songs, that when one ended, everyone knew which would be the next song? We did!
I LOVE "Boom Boom"!!! That's one of my absolute favorite ADPi Recruitment songs.
I don't think we ever did strings of songs, but while I was spirit chair, Pi Pi was normally the very first song that came out! We didn't realy do Boom Boom with any frequency until I went back as an alumna!
We also did a song (not during Recruitment) called "I Want You To Know" that's very similar to "Boom Boom". Did anyone else do it?
Think the song you were thinking of was "It only takes a spark" goes like this
"It only takes a spark to get a friendship going,
soon all those around will warm up to its glowing,
......"
Hi! I am the music chair for my chapter and we are revamping our pref ceremony- I could really use some suggestions for songs to use at the beginning and end of pref. In the past we have sung "It only takes a spark," but I think we are all ready for something different. Our recruitment chair has recommended "Linger" for the end, and has been told that some chapters use "Follow Me" for the beginning. I have never heard either! Anyway- I would LOVE any suggestions and/or thoughts!
Pi Love!
