The dress is "NW3 by Hobbs" from John Lewis, a British company. It can be found here

I love it too!

If I can find some 1985 Seventeen magazines and a scanner, I'll do this. LOL

(PS: I forget who said in the other thread that they had a 1969 Seventeen back to school issue but if you're not emotionally attached, it would most likely fetch beaucoup bucks on ebay.)

This is my "can I create this look at my fav clothing boutique, Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls" thread. I believe in dressing my best for less.

Polyvore=crack. Except I can't figure out how to post the pictures here. All I can find is blog code instead of forum code.

The easiest way is to right-click on the picture, open it in a new tab, and then use that as the URL for the "insert picture"

I wish my photoshop skills were as strong as others' skills are! Here are my clothing choices... but I'm too lazy for exact shoe and jewelry picks. Anyway, even if I had it to do over on an unlimited budget, I'd probably still end up wearing the same jewelry every day... it'd just be more expensive this time around!

ROUND ONE: ICE WATER TEAS
Since round one is still two days at UGA and it's only a bajillion degrees outside, I'd need two dresses in case the heat made one dress unwearable the next day. Both are Lauren by Ralph Lauren.

Day One:

Day Two:

ROUND TWO: HOUSE TOURS
I'd want something fun and cute that would still stand out a little, like this Sketchpad Elyse Dress by Kate Spade.

ROUND THREE: PHILANTHROPY
I'd want something bright and fun, but a little dressier than round two. I'd either go for this red and black (Go Dawgs!) one by Michael Kors:

OR this cute little party dress from The Limited:

ROUND FOUR: PREFS
I'd want to stay away from a solid black dress, since so many girls seem to show up in LBDs. I just love this dress from White House Black Market:

BID DAY:
I'd wear this cute Michael Kors dress (which you can totally get at Macy's for $69.99). Comfy and with pockets! Sure, it's not totally white, but who cares? Recruitment is over!

So I am now addicted to Polyvore. Thanks for introducing me. Here's my second, better take (and truly taking advantage of the if-you-had-no-budget premise).

(On Bid Day you get a shirt from the sorority you run to...and obviously I'm working on the premise that I already knew where I was going.)

I haven't even gone through recruitment yet, but if I had unlimited funds, this is the dress I would want for prefs:

Ah, the first dress! Is it from Theory? I've been ogling a dress that looks just like that for a little while.

Round 1: Open House (very casual - sorority members wear jeans/khakis & a t-shirt)

Round Two: House Tours & Philanthropy (casual - sorority members wear skirts/tops or casual dresses)

Round 3: Skit Night (sundress or night skirt & top - sororities wear nice sundresses) I might be stretching it with this one...it's a little bright...but I think it would work.

Round 4: Preference (cocktail attire - sororities wear nice dresses - usually black with a colored accent, but there is some variation, for ex. Pi Phi wears wine & blue colored dresses).

I love everything here & also all of goldsilverbronze's first posting- except the pale green shoes for Pref Night -- I'd have to substitute something much more classic (sorry, I think that I double posted).
