Even my husband watched for the first hour and a half, and he didn't even tell me to turn it off when he decided to go to sleep (which he always does when he knows I'm DVRing it). Perhaps there's some hope that I can get him to love British period dramas yet! Well, no, probably not. But I can dream.

I'm late to the game, but really happy to finally understand what all the talk is about!

So I thought it would be on hulu since season 2 is on it. It isn't up yet. Does anyone know if/when it will be posted or somewhere I can watch it online? I already pay for netflix and hulu plus so free would be wonderful.

Try PBS online. They frequently change up what you can watch for free, and I've noticed that one day you can watch a current episode and the next day you can't. It's worth a try.

ETA: it is up on PBS Online

LOVE THIS SHOW!

Got hooked on this show went I was in San Diego taking care of my dad while my mom had to go out of town for a week. He and my mom told me about it and how much they enjoyed it, but they had missed a show or two, so I ordered both seasons on DVD and one day my dad and I stayed in our pj's all day and watched all of season one and most of season two. We finished up season two the next day. I brought the dvd's home and put one in on a night when nothing was on TV and hubby was immediately hooked. I watched all epsiodes again. When we finished watching the last episode (Christmas epsiode) in early December, he whined that he wasn't going to be able to wait till Season 3 began! We LOVE Downton Abbey!!! or Downtown Abbey as we both first called the show

PS That PBS special about the real castle that serves as Downton Abbey - eg Highclere Castle - was also very interesting!

Only way to watch Season 3 in one fell swoop is the BT it....most people *don't* want to do that...

I of course justify it by ordering the DVDs once they become available on January 29th (pre-ordered via Amazon)

If you google, "Watch [insert show name here]", the first few options usually work!

Even though I knew it was coming, it was still hard to watch.
